Fun at The Can Can! 12/27/2006

I took my out-of-towner friend for a dinner and a show at the Can Can Club last Friday and our experience kept my friend and I up all night just talking and gushing about this place. When we walked we were immediately amazed at everything this place has to offer. The hostesses are dressed in corsets and the entire club is bathed in red lights. The place was packed at 930 in the evening which is always a good sign. I made reservations for dinner and the show so our seats were very close to the mainstage. I don't think they serve full entrees but their apps are pretty good and cheap. The drinks are a little steep but the service is attentive and friendly. The servers double as performers, they definitely do a much better job serving the customers than most chain restaurants out there. Tip: eat dinner before going in at The Can Can, their nosh is great but not very substantial. The show is spectacular. They were a little late to start but it was so worth it... My friends and I had to scrape our jaws off the floor. Everything was funny and tasteful. Must see performers are Fushcia Foxx and Ultra. If you're looking for a great night out, put the Can Can on the top of your list, you'll definitely have the time of your life! www.myspace.com/cancanseattle more

Loved the ambiance! 8/28/2006

The Can Can is horribly hard to find, but once you get there it's really worth it. You're greeted by a gal at a ticket desk who will also serve as your hostess. Everyone is dressed in full-fledge Can Can apparel, which means lots of cleavage and knee-caps. The stage is in the center, with little bistro style tables all around. There are some larger tables which are good for groups (bachelorette parties are especially popular here). Everyone says the shows are very fun, but we didn't stay that late. The drinks at the bar were awesome. I had the East of Eden which was to die for. It was raspberry puree with muddled cucumber, of all things. With a shot of vodka it was extremely refreshing and just what the doctor ordered after walking all the way from Capitol Hill. For an appetizer my husband and I shared the risotto/mozzarella ball appetizer (don't remember the actual name), which was decent. I think if we came back it'd be for the dinners and the drinks. more
