My first instinct for bar & restaurant recommendations (or really...for anything) always seem to be for places either not mentioned by anyone else, or not even listed. But Jabu's Pub is pretty sweet...for serious!
Found on Roy St. on the skirts of central LQA (Lower Queen Anne), Jabu's is a home retrofitted into a business which provides character if nothing else. There are two main rooms, each with their own bar & seating. The back room is host to TVs, pool tables and the like, with an enchanting outdoor patio to connect the two.
The staff is almost always charismatically snarky. No quicker way to feel at home than cheeky, fun service! Their bar menu is thought provoking, with some items not so secretly aligned to microwavable goods available at Costco (IE Hot Pockets). Decent to standard prices and manageable crowd make it a rock-solid choice.
