Folks, if you like middle eastern food, or even if you don't think you do, get yourself to Truly Mediterranean. This new restaurant in the University District offers a wide menu of amazingly delicious items. Often falafel can be hit or miss... often tasting bland or charred. But at Truly Med you'll find the most tender, flavorful balls of perfection. Instead of wrapping these tasty morsels in a dry, boring, pita, they opt for the flaky and marvelous lavash flat bread. And then round it out with chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, and a little spicy red sauce. If you're smart you'll opt for the deluxe falafel which includes potato and divine fried eggplant. MMMM!!! The shawerma (much like a gyro) is reportedly fantastic. This place was a huge hit in it's former incarnation in San Francisco. Once you taste a bite, you'll be so glad they've moved to this beautiful Seattle location!

For all the SF emigres, TrulyMed has moved shop from the Haight to the U district. I haven't tried the other dishes (it’s an expanded menu from SF) but there is no better falafel in town. Hand ground chickpeas, freshly made, great value.
