The other reviewer that said "whole paycheque" was right, though. No bargains, here.

I like Whole Foods as much as the next person. They have a wonderful produce section and bakery and I just enjoy a supermarket with good aethetics in general. But their prices are very high - and I feel like I'm paying for the "experience" as well as the groceries in my cart. It is a fun store though, especially if you're looking for a unique ingredient.

LIKE MOST PLACES THAT OFFER A MULTITUDE OF DELIGHTS, YOU CAN EXPECT A BIT OF A HEADACHE WHILE SHOPPING THERE. "WHOLE FOODS," IN RAVENNA, OFFERS UP A WHOLE LOTTA HEADACHETO GO ALONG WITH THE DELIGHT.
THE PARKING LEAVES SERIOUS ROOM FOR THE "PATIENT ONLY," BUT ONCE INSIDE YOU MAY NEED MORE. PLAN ON IT, BUT DO NOT STAY AWAY, FOR THERE ARE VERY FEW MARKETS THAT OFFER THE WIDE/DELICIOUS VARIETY THAT "WHOLE FOODS" DOES.
HAVING A PARTY? THE CATERING IS TRULY TOP NOTCH.
THE SALAD BAR AND DELI'S ARE HARD TO BEAT AND THE WINE SELECTION IS BEYOND FABULOUS BUT BRING YOUR BANK BECAUSE YOU WILL BE BREAKING IT TO CHECK OUT.

I've been shopping at whole foods for years now. I started in California and now that I'm in Seattle, I've rediscovered my love for this place. Although it is mass market chain organic, they are truly committed to local food and often tell you where the apples come from. The cheese department is superb- they will give you sample of cheeses, which is always good since when spending more than $20 a pound for cheese, you better know you like it! Regardless, the selection, freshness and variety surpasses any other market in the area. Be prepared to spend money, with all of the temptations you will not get out cheap.

I went to Whole Foods in Ravenna to shop for my valentine's day dinner and it was a great experience. They merchandise the store in the most logical manner helping me to shop by course (appetizer, entree, dessert and wine) which is very useful especially when you don't have a solid plan in place as to what you need to buy. They always have ample staff on hand to answer questions and I find that the staff is passionate and knowledgeable about their product. The woman at the checkout commented on how good the wine I purchased was and that I was buying it at a really good price-this made me feel even better about my choices.
All in all, if quality and service are important to you, I recommend whole foods.

Walking into a whole foods is kind of a spiritual experience. The produce section is like a still life painting, and the quality and flavers actually exceed my expectations. Even the meat tastes better. But you really pay for the increase in quality -- it's a matter of choosing where you want to spend your money.

Whole Foods has a wide variety of classes, and from all reports they are good quality and they really span the range. I've been to several classes at the Pasta and Company, but I don't think they do them anymore. I don't know about PCC, but Whole Foods is probably your best bet.
