It is impossible to ever leave!!! I am moving to Italy and although I keep providing various documents and contacts proving that I am leaving this doesn't seem to be enough. when I signed up I specifically asked if this would be a problem. I mentioned I was leaving the city but wouldn't have these typical documents that they request from you in order to cancel. The sales guys told me it wouldn't be a problem. People move out of the country all the time and they can take care of it. It was a total bait and switch. I don't understand how a company can do well with so many people having the same problem. Check out the reviews on other sites. I'm not the only one.

Rain claims to be a unique atmosphere, and in some ways it really is. I like that there are truely all kinds of people here, and it's nice to have go to an independent gym. The classes are great, but many cost extra. The staff is wonderful, and I never have to wait for equipment. The only strange thing is that there are no scales in the gym and they play this techno music that is sometimes annoying (but I can never hear it over my ipod). The veiw from the machines is beautiful, but the TVs are next to the windows and are impossible to see when it's even a little sunny (I don't watch the TVs so it's not a big deal to me, but might be to someone else).
Overall, a good value for your money, but nowhere is perfect (although if you had more money, and could afford the add on classes, personal trainers, and pilates, this would be the place for you!).

Membership fees for me was $29 + tax a month. I had to sign a 1 year contract and no enrollment fee. They did a promotion for my company so it might be a little more expensive if you join on your own. The average age is probably lower 30s.
The equipment is fairly new. Spending an hour or more on the treadmill or the elliptical machine is very boring but having a view of Elliott Bay sure helps! The classes are usually not over-crowded and the gym is fairly empty in the morning before work.
Another good thing is that they never hassled me to join or gave me a hard time when I quit (I switched jobs and Rain wasn't that convenient for me anymore.)

I am a member at Rain Fitness, a small gym down where Denny hits Western. I think it's everything you could want in a gym: clean, airy, very few meatheads, friendly staff, and a broad range of equipment and classes. I don't do much cardio there, but they have plenty of machines, all of which face out to the Sound. On a sunny day, it's just a really refreshing environment in which to work out. But don't tell too many people, because otherwise that will ruin the best part: it's currently never too crowded.

This gym does everything right. There is someone to greet you with a warm smile at the front desk. The equipment is top quality! Unlike some gyms, there are 3 different lines of weight equipment to choose from. The cardio pieces are also top notch and face the large bank of windows looking out over Elliott Bay.
I've been to more expensive gyms in the city but I have to say the exceptional staff, equipment, and views make Rain Fitness the best gym around.

Okay, this place rocks. The views are amazing while you are working out and the staff is friendly. When you go to inquire about packages, the do not try to hard sell you. You make the decision on your own. The prices are so good! There are many different classes and there is space for people to get in. They have tons of equipment so you can get what you want, when you want - no waiting. Plus they have something for every fitness level and every need. I referred to friends there already!
