Being from NY, we're very particular about our Italian food and often overly critical. We went here before the Ozomatli show on Saturday night and the food was tremendous! We did have to wait for about 20 minutes and the woman manning the hostess stand was less than friendly, even though we had a reservation, but ultimately it was worth it! Also it helped that the owner came around to personally apologize for the wait. We had the veal parmesan, which was so yummy and a cream pasta with Italian sausage, which I actually almost finished it was so good. We didn't make it to dessert unfortunately as we had to go, but we'll definitely be back!
Pros: very good food
Cons: crowded and need to hold reservations

My husband and I have visited the Cafe a few times over the years, and I have to say, it has only got better with age. On our last visit there for dinner we were warmly greeted at the door, with the server taking our coats and welcoming us as if we were old friends. We were shown to our table and quickly offered drinks, which we decided would be some wine. They have a great wine list and as a wine lover I can tell you, they have some real values on the list if you know what to look for.
I have always enjoyed the food there, but I was so impressed by our food this time. There is a new chef and he is really doing a great job with the menu. My husbands cassoulet was probably the best version of the dish we have ever had--including one we had in France! The frites were just perfect too--what a combination! The desserts we had were delicious, I had a chocolate cake and he had Ice cream, and both were so good we were stealing from eachothers plates. We had a great dinner and will definately be back for more!
Pros: great food and service
Cons: an a busy night you better have reservations

Went here on a date, it was so great! The restaurant had low light but was brightened up after all the candle were lit, and the fireplace was turned on. The bread they bring you before your meal comes out was great, and it came with a side bowl filled with 5 or 6 roasted garlic cloves. Perfect for your bread and it was delicious. I got the pasta milano, which was very good. and my date got the seafood fettucine. Greattttttt Great! Take your date here!!
Pros: Great food, Very Romantic, Good selection of entrees
Cons: Parking

This is one of our favorite hidden gems in Seattle. We have introduced countless friends to the Alki Homestead and have always had a great experience. They have the best fried chicken on the west coast, serve family style - the food is just good home cooking without a lot of frills. Where else can you go for fried chicken, linen table clothes, river rock fireplace and a taste of Seattle history? Highly recommended!
Pros: Reasonable cost, good parking, great atmosphere
Cons: reservations required

As I walked into Martin's, hungover as all hell and thinking that it would be a great place to not be seen, I was not expecting much. All the servers were walking around in utili-kilts- -something I never thought I would see in a gay establishment- I'll leave it at that. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, and my friend had the Eggs Benedict...both the best we've ever had! I have brunched all over the world, and this was the best. Not pretentious... just delicious! I will be there every sunday from now on, as my search for the best brunch in town is over.
Pros: Great place to not run into pretentious hipsters, amazing brunch.
Cons: Tacky Utili-kilts

Ok, so it is my own fault.... I went back! This restaurant is just plan bad. Service was friendly both times, but the food is mediocre at best and value for your money is non-existent. If you do decide to go here, expect cafeteria quality pasta and way overpriced add-ons like meatballs or sausage.
Pros: fast food pasta
Cons: fast food pasta
