My son is an infant at the school and has a wonderful relationship with the staff. He enjoys all of the daily activities the center provides. I would highly recommend young child academy. It is most definately a diverse group of families and teachers.

I have a four and a half year old son, and he loves Trettin preschool. There are always new and exciting activities and projects going on for him to do, and he comes home with adorable projects that go along with the current curriculim of the week. They have a daily schedule that includes morning and afternoon story and show and tells, which he loves. Make sure your child gets to check out O-Hall, it's an indoor playground with bikes and climbers. Just wonderful.
I was welcome to come in and help him get comfortable with his new surroundings as long as I needed too, and his teachers were very helpful. I would highly recommend the preschool to anyone. It is a drop in preschool so you can use it just how you need it, on occasion or regularly, and you don't need to be on any kind of waiting list either!

I'm not sure why the last gal only gave this site a 2 star rating when she hasn't even used them yet, but I can tell you that this is one of the most valuable babysitting finding sites out there. In Kirkland they have over 200 sitters. It's $40 to join - but just a small monthy fee after that and I can tell you it's worth it, especially if your new to the area or don't want to pay costly agency fees. It's a bit like "Match.com" for babysitters and parents - sitters are rated by parents that have hired them, and it's up to the parents and the sitters to determine hourly rates, etc. You should definately check them out.

The Seattle Pacific University Website www.spu.edu has a classfied section. Click on childcare and you will find GREAT postings of babysitter/nannys that are available right now. You can also create a 'wanted' post with your EXACT (dates, times, children's ages, etc.) needs and you will get responses from college age sitters. I posted an ad and got many responses from great sitters as well as other parents about nanny-share opporunities. I would recommend settting up a new free (yahoo or hotmail) email account when posting an ad like this.

On Call Nanny ONLY places temporary and short-term nannies- so they are completely committed to providing families with the best, most qualified nannies who need back-up, temp, or emergency care. All of the nannies have CPR certification and great experience, and are on their team long-term. They also provide nannies at hotels in the area.

Unlike the previous reviewer, my kids DO attend this school and I believe it to be the best school ever. We have a very bright child who was bored at the local catholic school and a child with significant learning delays. Both children are THRIVING. The education is exceptionally child-centered--math, english, and science learnings have been remarkable. We have found this school to be nothing less than flexible, loving and supportive. Can't recommend highly enough!

I've had my son at NCDC since he was four months old (he is now 3) and have been very happy with my experience there. In the infant room, they have two teachers plus additional staff who will do nothing but hold the babies if that is what they need. I worked nearby and they were fine with me coming into the room whenever I needed or wanted to feed him (I usually came to see him at lunch) and it was reassuring to see how attentive they were to all of the babies. They also maintain a very low turnover, so all of the staff at the school knows my son (some very well) so it almost feels like a second family to him. I'm sad to be leaving for preschool!
