A group of friends and I planned to go to Bizarro on a Friday night. We understood that there were no reservations, but we called ahead to ask if they could accommodate a large group. We were given no problem, and we were willing to wait the hour+ it took to get a table.
Upon ordering, the server realized that many of us had ordered salads rather than entrees and promptly changed from her cheery self to the rudest server I have ever met. She slammed the utensils down on the table, yelled across the table, and demanded our dessert orders approximately 3 mins after our salads were served. Even before we were finished with our plates, they were whisked away, no questions asked. We were in and out in less than an hour, and as we added up the bill (for which we had all brought cash), we were offered a calculator to hurry up our payment. We were stared down by the entire staff the whole evening.
Apparently, although this place advertises itself as a friendly and laid-back establishment, they would much rather serve those who would give them the most money in the least amount of time.
Pros: food was pretty good
Cons: they would rather you be a dollar bill than a customer

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Food is nothing to brag about, service was so so at beat and it takes to dang long to get food from kitchen.
Cons: Bad Service and food takes to long.

Fantastik, wonderful, we were so happy to have spent our modest dollars at this well run and exciting restaurant. unbelievable prices for such great and exciting meals. we watched as each table would observe what the next table had ordered and all of us excited to see what the next dish would be.....the 2 of us will make this a must go destination as long as these fine people keep serving such wonderful bites.
Pros: beautiful food
Cons: worthwhile wait

There are not many restaurants like this one. There are lots of table squeezed into a tight space and all the remaining space is filled with stuff.. looks like a yard sale. The last time I made reservations and they were an hour behind then we were seated at a table with another couple, but it ended up being ok. I had the Gorgonzola pear pasta YUM!

I love the choices and quality of italian food here, as well as the wine. But, almost as important is the decor! It's a blast to see all the weird things hanging from the ceiling and walls, including (in the past) a big eyeball, a coffee cup and saucer, a table and chairs, bicycle, etc. It makes for a great conversation piece, and kids love it, as well.

This place would be on my shortlist for my "last meal!" My boyfriend and I always pick Bizzarro's for any occasion that requires celebration - promotion, birthdays, anniversaries. When people ask us "where to eat when we're in Seattle" we always recommend Bizzarro's. The 'Forest Floor Frenzy' is AMAZING! I always order this dish and have never been disappointed. My boyfriend always gets something else which is predictably fabulous. The wines are amazing and they have a heavenly chocolate cake dessert (cannot remember exact name) which is great paired with a Port. They have an excellent wine menu to boot! But the best thing is the decor - it's whimsical, creative and entertaining. I think this is one of the best decorated restaurants in the city. This is the perfect date spot!

I've been to Bizzarro numerous times and leave the restaurant each time happy and content. I was born in Italy and have inherently developed very high expectations for Italian food. I have not come across a pair of such Italian gems as Bizzarro and Tutta Bella for pasta and pizza respectively before in the US and both of these restaurants are within a couple of blocks of each other! Whereas Tutta Bella offers authentic Neapolitan pizza, Bizzarro isn't as authentic in ambience or menu as it is on the quality of the pasta. What I mean is that the types of pasta sauces on offer would probably be considered quite liberal in Italy; however each one I have tried has been amazing. In particular, the ribboned pasta with white truffle sauce is delectable and hard to forego on each visit. The ambience is warm and, at the risk of sounding like a girl, cozy, and the walls are adorned with strange and misplaced mementos fit to inspire Lewis Carroll. I have found the prices to be very reasonable, the service excellent, and the wait staff pleasant and humorous. Keep in mind that even the finest Italian meal might not be everyone's cup of tea. If you're like one of the previous reviewers and feel the need to blast Bizzarro because it doesn't offer spaghetti, its probably time to look into your first trip to Bella Italia. I took a friend to Bizzarro recently, and, well, let's just say his idea of Italian dining is lasagna at Olive Garden. Needless to say, he did not appreciate the restaurant. I guess even the finest things in life attract criticism.
Pros: excellent food every time, reasonable prices, light-hearted environment
Cons: raises existential concerns when considering people who don't like it

Man this place wah so tight i took my girlie there and we had all this bomb and good experience friend. man we had some wine and cheese man, it wasn't like anything new but still. We had all salami and cakes man. There was a lot of beans in one of the dishes so that was real tight. Man, if i had wonna these in my house that would be tight. This place is the bomb right next to Mashed Potato Melissa's on Broadway and John downtown.
Pros: the tables man
Cons: the lights man

It's my second visit to Bizzara. The atmosphere is good, the service is good, and the food is tasty and well-prepared. The problem is that the portions are very small and the prices are very high. A $25+ salmon meal had 5 ounces of salmon (8-10 bites max) and 5 shoots of asparagus, and 2 tablespoons of pesto. All pasta portions were small, including the small bowls of soup. Party of 4 cost $140 with 1/2 carafe of house wine that was average at best. Restaurant has nice location and atmosphere, but it lacks value.

Went to Bizarro two weeks ago with my brother and a friend. It was Tuesday night, so we were able to get a table right away. We started with some wine and a great salami antipasto. I had the linguini with clams and pancetta, my brother had the lamb shank, and my friend had the pasta with kale. I sampled the other two and both were great. My own meal was fantastic. I loved the fresh pasta and the light broth and lots of clams. The portions were just right. For dessert, we had the chocolate vesuvius - warm espresso/chocolate cake with espresso ice cream. Overall, great food, great service, and great atmosphere. This place is also kid friendly. There were two tables behind us with kids, but we barely noticed them
Pros: Food, Service, Ambience
Cons: No reservations, so expect to wait on busy nights
