If you enjoy ice skating like I do then you will enjoy going to the Highland Ice Arena. Besides the little ice rink that they put out in Seattle Center during the winter time, this ice rink is open pretty much all year round. Its a fun activity to go to with your friends for over the weekend. They keep this place well cleaned, they also clean the ice rink itself every couple hours so the ice isn's all scratched up. Come enjoy the fun in ice skating, and meet some new people while youre at it!

The space needle is absolutely the most marvelous place to visit while in Seattle. It is gorgeous at night and an outstanding view during the day. The ride to the observation tower is fun too. We have also dined in their restaurant and have also have had group events in their private rooms. Everything is also tended to in a careful manner which always make a huge impression.

My first experience with Everyday Music was at their gigantic Sandy Boulevard store in Portland. This store in Seattle is not quite as big (although they recently almost doubled their floor space) but the selection seems just as good. If you still like to actually own physical CDs then this is a great place to shop. They group new and used discs together, so it is easy to see what is available from your favorite artists, and the list of artists in the catalog is deep. This is my favorite place in Seattle to buy music.

Northgate is like what Alderwood used to be - dark colors, low ceilings, etc. In a way, I find it comfy because it's the sort of mall I grew up going to, and because it's not as flashy as Alderwood, it's much less busy. So if you're hoping something is still on the sales rounder at your favorite store - check Northgate.

This tour shows the hidden Seattle below your feet as you wander around Pioneer Square. You go below the surface to discover our fair city's way of dealing with the scourge of daily floods from the incoming tides. There's a lot of strange hidden things, and the tours give a lot of local color and history. Well worth the time.

Long live King Felix! I knew before the year began that we wouldn't be all that great next year, but the team is finally making the move that should have been done two years ago. Out with the old, in with the new. With Felix Hernandez, Jeremy Reed, Adrien Beltre, Richie Sexson, and hopefully Bucky, we will be a team to reckon with in 2007. Go M's!

This is a beautiful, homey, single-screen theater that plays all the major movies - first run - but without the noise, ads, neon and inflated prices of the major cineplexes. But, beyond that, there is something truly "real" about Columbia City theater. It is a community theater and it is common to find neighbors and friends sitting on the big comfy couches in the lobby and forgetting that they came to see a film. A truly family-friendly place, we can take our daughter there without having to run into mass-media cheezy advertising that can make a trip to the movies feel like such an emotional hassle. We love this theater and go to see EVERYTHING they show, whether we want to see it or not, just to support it.
As a bonus, there are a handful of great little shops and restaurants popping up in Columbia City. Before or after a film, you can dine at any number of restaurants, shop in a handful of unique boutiques..... At this rate, Columbia City will be the next Ballard..... If you live int he South End, you already know about this gem of a theater. If not, it's worth the trip.

This is a great place to get new and used CDs for really cheap. If you go directly in the back of the store there is a wall of CDs for .99. It takes awhile to find ones that are worth purchasing but its worth it. You can listen to any CD before buying it which helps.
