The Showbox is my favorite venue to see shows in Seattle (though I hear good things about the Firehouse). The place is a lot less smoky than El Corozone (or whatever they are calling it these days) and they have some pretty decent bands there, including the most rocking Mighty Mighty Bosstones show on the coast. Check it out.

I love Bullwinkles. It's a perfect place to take your kids if there's nothing else that they can find to do. There is a go-cart track, tons of arcade games, skee-ball, etc. There is a food court and a restaurant. I've never eaten at the restaurant but I hear that it is basically run-of-the-mill family food with tons of chicken fingers and hamburgers, etc.
Also: laser tag, batting cages, and virtual roller coaster.
Found it is best to avoid this place on holidays and weekends unless you want to be overrun with the 12 and under crowd. Go during the day on a weekday and you'll practically have the whole place for yourself. Fun entertainment.
Attractions can be expensive, depending on what it is. Most range around $5 per person per attraction.

The Experience Music Project is a unique museum like no other in the world. Admittedly, I'm a huge music fan, but I think even the casual fan will easily find they can spend hours exploring the EMP. The galleries are filled with incredible memorabilia, and the museum audio guide (definitely worth the nominal extra cost) really brings the items on display alive. Sound Lab is an amazing opportunity to learn how to play guitar, drums, or keyboards in 10 minutes or less. Make sure you don't miss the theatre on the bottom level that screens interesting short films featuring the artists showcased in the galleries. Admission is not cheap, but the value is well worth the cost.

More
I am new to the Seattle area, and used to have a regular dentist that I saw at least once a year. I have been reluctant to seek out a new dentist because I have a lot of dental anxiety. As a child, I had terrible experience at the dentist and since then, it has been very difficult for me to find a dentist that I can trust. Since I moved almost 2years ago now, I just couldn't put my teeth off any longer! I was told about Oak Tree Dental by a friend, and what a great friend she is! When I came in the office on the first day, I already felt at ease by the clean, comfortable lobby and staff. Everything was so well organized and put together. My insurance was already obtained and they had a CLEAR understanding of how it worked. Once I finished with my x-rays and exam, they had a clear outline of what needed to be done and why. Very thorough! I thought for sure that I would have to bill my insurance for my visit that day. No other dental offices that I have been to have time to bill that many insurance companies, let alone keep track of that many plans. But they told me not to worry, and that they would bill them for me, I couldnt believe it. I couldnt have asked for more.

I have visited this garden several times but today was transforming - there was a Japanese music duo playing music in the garden. Everyone should know! They play lovely music in the garden on Sunday afternoons! I had to blink to remind myself that I wasn't in Japan - the combination of the scenery and the music was just like stepping into another world.
Pros: Wonderful ambience. Low-cost healing for the soul.

I'm generally not a very creative person when it comes to art. But Paint the Town brings out the creativity side of me. I love how you can personalize your own mugs, bowls, plates, picture frames and more. I made a mug for my fiance and wrote my name on it. It's a pretty fun place. The mug cost me $8, and they charge $6/hr. If you go on Weds., it's ladies night and they have specials, such as discounts on the hourly rate. You can also take your kids here and spend some family time with them. Kids would love this place, they get to paint things and see their final products in a week. Highly recommended! It's also a great date place too!

If you are an acoustic musician, your local Guitar Center may not give you the right kind of romantic feeling. Dusty Strings in downtown Fremont is one of those hidden treasures that just makes you want to play. It's not easy to find parking in Fremont, especially on the weekend. But you'll find that Dusty Strings has an expert staff and a collection of acoustic instruments that are second to none. This place exudes craftsmanship and quality. You'll find guitars to dulcimers, whistles to harps.

The first thing I wanted to do when I visited Seattle was go up to the top of the space needle. The views are amazing. You can see Lake Washington, Lake Union, and all of the neighborhoods of Seattle. The staff was great, and the food was delicious! Highly recommended. It is rather pricey, but is well worth it.

If you’re tired of the Starbucks and Peet’s coffee chains, head to the Fremont Coffee House, just a couple of blocks west from Fremont Ave on 35th. This coffee spot has a great feel as it is built inside a regular family house with rooms and nooks that carve out semi private spots to read or work on your laptop. They offer pretty much everything that Starbucks does, plus have a great selection of rootbeers and tasty desserts (my favorite was the cardamom cake). There is also seating outside for when it’s nice.
