Simply stated, I love this theater! They have so many great shows playing here, I wish I could clone myself to go and see all of them. And then there is the ambiance of the theater itself. The elaborate moldings make the venue seem very glamorous. Unfortunately, given the casual nature of Seattle, the illusion is lost when you see many of the patrons milling about in inappropriate attire. So, my suggestion is find a show you want to see, get all dressed up and head to the theater.

AAA membership has lots of advantages, trip packs, jump starts, towing, and when you take a trip to a new city, you're not alone!
Like most of the rest of the services, it's not the very best, but it's a consistently medium-to-high quality wherever you go. I suspect that there is a centralized training program.

Wow, we had not heard about this place, until we happened to be a Jalisco's (a great Mexican restaurant on Capital Hill), the waiter said he's just been to Acme to bowl and it was terrific.
We took our kids birthday party in tow and headed down there. Wow, it is way nicer than Sunset Bowl (no smoking!) and although it is expensive ($90 for six people, two lanes, shoe rentals and two games), it is worth it.
It is clean and has lots of flat screen TVs everywhere. There is a bar and a restaurant too. It is brand new and across from the Mervyns. See http://acmebowl.com for more details. 100 Andover Park West, Tukwila, WA 98188 Main: 206.340.ACME

Seating & View is perfect. For the first time I had a great experience at a downtown Seattle theatre, able to watch the whole show and not leave early because I cant see with the heads in front of me.
Each row of seats is raised a level higher like on stairs so that no one can possibly block your view. I wont do sitting on pillows, its not my style to haul a pillow around when I'm all dressed up.
Staff... very friendly. Although the ticket person was quite incompetant when I needed to replace my ticket.. it asked me to stand aside while it continued taking money for other peoples ticket and the line was endless. So I went to the info person and was helped immediately with my ticket. So even though the ticketer was incompetant, it did not prevent me from getting more than my moneys worth at the ACT.

Born Yesterday is a comedy mixing politics and to some degree feminism written by Garson KAnin, the great playright that was married to the marvelous Ruth Gordon.
This is a good play to see at ACT and just opened last week. It runs from June 17th to July 17th. We saw it last Sunday at a preview and it was truly entertaining.
The woman who plays Bilie Dawn (Judy Holliday's character on Broadway) is outstanding if not superb in the role. She has amazing comedic timing and will have you laughing and wanting more. She uses her face to express more than just words and is too funny for words.
The supporting cast is good too; especially Rochard Ziman who plays Harry Brock, R. Hamilton Wright and PAul Morgan. Harry's character plays wonderfully against Billie.
The Allen Theater in the round means its hard to find a bad seat. If you've never been to act this is a good play to try out. Try and get the closest seats you can.

If you can wait for some of the blockbuster hits to come off the major theaters, then Admiral is the place to catch them before they go to dvd. Its a great old landmark West Seattle theater with a great price. Never a big crowd, the screen and sound are excellent.

My little sister has long been a dancer at this great family-owned dance studio and over the years I have always loved attending her dance recitals held in June after a semester of training. The teachers here are so personable and great with kids, not to mention, extremely talented! The classes range from ballet to hip-hop and are accessible to kids of all ages. If you have kids this is a great way to let them reveal their artistic, creative side as well as just plain having fun. :-)

I LOVE this theater. The most unique in Seattle for so many reasons. They played Blade Runner last month and the auditorium was over half full! From the velvet curtains, no commercials, the sparkly ceiling, the retro decor, the very mature audience that seems to frequent this theater...everything about Cinerama is a plus in my book (Besides the seats needing to be replaced)...
