If you enjoy ice skating like I do then you will enjoy going to the Highland Ice Arena. Besides the little ice rink that they put out in Seattle Center during the winter time, this ice rink is open pretty much all year round. Its a fun activity to go to with your friends for over the weekend. They keep this place well cleaned, they also clean the ice rink itself every couple hours so the ice isn's all scratched up. Come enjoy the fun in ice skating, and meet some new people while youre at it!

Highland Ice Arena is an affordable, year-round rink that is family friendly. They have all the usual things - rentals, snacks, etc, but they also cater to the hockey crowd with lessons and games in a separate rink. They also have space for parties or group events, and we've had a great time when we've attended skating parties there. The kids love the Zamboni!

The highland ice arena is a great place to spend a Friday evening. They're open fairly late, and it wasnt over crowded with kids when I went. It is inexpensive, but the place needs updating. They have both hockey and figure skates available for rental for $2.50. They also have Wednesday night "Cheap Skates" which is even cheaper than the already low price. The whole place could use a face lift, but then it wouldn't be so affordable. I would NOT recommend using the bathrooms at all.

I've only been here once, but it was a great experience. It wasn't too crowded and everyone was very friendly. This is one of the few ice skating rinks in town. It conveniently located in North Seattle and very easy to find. There is ample parking available and the price was pretty decent. If you are tired of roller skating, then give ice skating a try. I only feel down twice!

Do you like to ice skate? There aren't very many places in Seattle that offer ice skating all year round. But Highland Ice Arena does. You can go there, rent skates, and pay a small admission fee, and skate as long as you want. You don't even have to be a pro skater. There are always many beginners there, you can just skate on the outside and hold on to the bars until you get the hang out it. But you have to make sure that you check their schedule to make sure that they are having public skate. Because sometimes they have hockey games and other people using the rink. Sometimes they also have free session skate which means you don't have to pay an admission fee, you just pay for skate rentals. This is a great place to go do on a weekend if you are bored, or to hold a birthday party at. The weekends are great, they are open til midnight, but that is only on certain months, so check out their schedule on their website, or give them a call.

Highland is an old ice rink and it shows. It has a regular size sheet of ice and a smaller rink that's about half or 2/3 the size of the main rink. You'll notice as soon as you walk into the place that is has a dull, run-down feel. Both ice rinks need some work. The boards are falling apart and in the ends there isn't even glass above the boards in some areas. If you are playing hockey it can be downright dangerous at times if you need to chase the puck into the corner. Highland does provide a lot of time for open skate. They have skate rentals plus a large lobby area to relax afterwards. If you have a hockey team needing a sheet of ice for some practice, passing or shooting drills and the like, this is an OK place. For serious games I would look elsewhere.
