In the relatively recent past I have seen great, intimate concerts for free by: Franz Ferdinand Kings of Leon RJD2 at Easy Street on Lower Queen Anne. I have also seen a few bad sets. The beauty is that all of the concerts are free, so if the band is terrible, it is easy to leave because you don't feel like you have to get your money's worth. Highly recommended.

I'd heard of this place long before I actually went there. It was described as "the" authentic Seattle record store. I'm not sure what that means, but as far as record stores go, it is a great one. Their collection is extensive, covering all the basics including jazz, hip-hop, country, and world etc. I was able to find what I was looking for and at a decent price. It was a bit confusing initially getting to understand the arrangement of the store, but that was soon overcome. They also sell and have a nice selection of: DVDs, magazines, band t-shirts, and Lps. Easy Street even has a section for used music. You may not find what you wanted used, but I'd say that, in comparison with other used record stores I've visited, the selection is better. This suggests they were sold back by informed music-appreciators who also frequent the store. A good sign in any case.

Here ye, here ye: Easy Street records is an obvious local favorite for its organic roots and frequent free in store performances. For me, walking in can be a little inundating - their musical expertise is obvious and intimidating. This isn't to say they're pretentious...I simply freeze when faced with so many options and possible directions to explore and I can never seem to rise to the challenge. God forbid I look like I don't have a million brilliant artists in mind, so I overreact and head straight to one or two vital artists and make a panic purchase. I eventually decreased my visits because my budget won't allow yet another Heart CD I didn't really need. This elaborate, idiotic, yet unavoidable process is no fault of Easy Street's. Their selection and presentation is top notch in addition to employing a helpful and nice staff (from what I can tell…I generally avoid them so that I don’t accidentally announce the fact that I really want the 3 CD Genesis collection). It's not their fault I have unreasonable anxiety when it comes to keeping my cool around musically knowledgeable people.

Also very knowledgeable staff about music compared to the less musically inclined at major stores such as best buy.

Easy Street Records has a wide selection and isn't afraid to share it. This store is, of course mostly about rock music. But they do sell classical music as well as an okay selection of world music. There are many listening stations throughout the store. Customer service is good and the overall atmosphere of the store and website shows how much these people care about good music. Easy Street often has free in store performances and a frequent buyers card is available.

This place is one of my favorite places to shop for music. they have so many cds and vinyl that it is amazing. The thing that makes this place stand out is the instore concerts that they have. They invite a band to play in their store itself on a small stage. They also have a cafe for breakfast and coffee in one of their stores. Great ambieance fun place to be!

THey have decent prices and the staff is very nice.

This place has terrific selection of music, local and otherwise. You can always find what you're looking for, plus lots of great advice from shop employees. This is the kind of record store you don't need to be intimidated to go into. They offer a broad range of styles and the shop in West Seattle has a great little cafe connected!
