It was so hard for me to find child care for my daughter. The small in home providers just don't have the activities that my daughter loves but are able to give more personal care. The big chains have all the activities but not enough supervision. Mother's Place is the perfect marriage of the two. They have a large outdoor play area, arts, crafts, sciences, swimming, computers, everything. Most important my little one loves it there. She wants to go every day.

I have had two children move through this program and now their infant cousin is there. It is a great place. My children have a sound background in Spanish which is critical to their future. They were both more than ready to succeed in school, both academically and socially. Their teachers have commented on how well they handle conflict. Perhaps most amazingly, in a total of nearly 10 years of childcare (5 years x 2), my children only missed 5 days due to illness - that's total, not each. Ask other parents with kids in daycare--this is unheard of!..This is a clean, healthy place...even if it is under Jiffy Lube!

I had my daughter enrolled in this school this year. The school is pretty small, but they are not overcrowded. The classes' size is small, they have always at least two teachers present in the class, working with the kids (by playing, of course)
Nice school for preschoolers. (the schedule is only 2 or 3 days per week about 3 hours/ day)

Yes, the park is a nice place to walk, but the school that is hidden here is the real treat. Called the Madison Park Cooperative, it is where we sent our youngest, they have really caring teachers and like all coops, there are education and other classes.
I can safely say that the parents who are part of this are some of the nicest people we've known.
The coop is actually in the bathhouse that is at the park and it has a complete schedule of kids activities typically half day. Coops really work well if you have the time to get involved. I particularly loved helping them to celebrate Chinese New Years and that was a fun thing to do, plus the lectures in the evenings about taking care of kids were terrific.

Unlike the previous reviewer, my kids DO attend this school and I believe it to be the best school ever. We have a very bright child who was bored at the local catholic school and a child with significant learning delays. Both children are THRIVING. The education is exceptionally child-centered--math, english, and science learnings have been remarkable. We have found this school to be nothing less than flexible, loving and supportive. Can't recommend highly enough!

Seattle Christian School is a wonderful place for any child! It is a private Christian school, and the difference between it and public school is amazing! In addition to the general curriculum that all schools teach, this school also adds character training! Kids can get reinforced at school what you are trying to teach them at home. Ample opportunities for children and parents alike. The staff is more than wonderful. They truly care about these kids and do everything they can do educate them mentally and spiritually. The only setback is that SCS is HIGHLY expensive. If you can afford it, go for it! If not try asking about their financial aid options!

I can't say enough good things about St. Matthew School. We just finished our first year there (my son is now going into first grade), and I am extremely impressed with the school, staff and community.
I knew ahead of time that my son would learn many new things - as the school has really strong test scores - but I had no idea what an amazing community of families the school has. Everyone is so supporting of both their own children but also everyone else's.
Another great aspect of the school is it's diversity. My son has children in his class from all types of backgrounds, which made his experience really interesting.

My children have attended Pinehurst Child Care for several years. It has proven to be a wonderful center for them. The staff combine both loving attention with, for the older children, basic preschool academic activities. The core staff has remained stable without the typical high turnover rates found at other centers. Parents are encouraged to be very involved and teachers and directors are all very responsive to parental concerns. The younger children (babies and toddlers) spend time in a nurturing environment with the right level of stimulus for their developmental level. The older children experience many enriching activities such as field trips. Though the school itself does not appear particular aesthetically pleasing on the outside, it is a wonderful place for kids.

They are really fabulous there. I can't praise them enough about the peace of mind of watching my child they gave me while I was working.
However, you should try to decide if you want a big daycare or a smaller one. I think in lieu of all of the illnesses he has gotten (which every big daycare center will have - Bright Star included), in retrospect I might have considered sending him to a smaller daycare facility where they are less likely to have this problem.
Also, another disadvantage is that larger daycare centers are MUCH more costly.
Start by asking around to your friends/colleagues to see where they send their kids and even if they are full, ask if they have friends who also run smaller daycares.
Hope this helps!
