I did my research and came to the conclusion that Hotel 1000's Spaahh was the best place to treat my best friend of 13 years to a "couples massage". I was in for more than I bargained for! Not only did the staff (Jessica and Leah) do all possible to make our Sunday appointment happen, they were incredibly willing and friendly during the process! Upon entering this quite, serene oasis, we were kindly greeted by the staff who had us fill out massage questionairres (which I found great since I have back problems) and then led us to the women's room to change into plush bathrobes and gave us the option of sitting in the dry sauna before our massage. (We did, it was amazing!). We were then led to an inviting waiting room that featured beautiful chairs, hot fresh tea, lemon water and relaxing music. Within moments, our massueses (spelling?) came and greeted us, dressed in all black. My massuese was a wonderful man named Robert, who I highly recommend. My best friend had a gentleman by the name of Clyde (you know, I may be wrong on his name, if so I apologize) and she swears his hands were delivered by God! We got relaxed and spent 90 minutes in heaven. Music was playing, the room was low lit and incredibly comfortable, and our needs were attended to on all levels. During the end of my massage, I saw Robert meditating over me, and he explained that he was doing some reiki work, which was really awesome. The price per person for a 90 minute massage was $160, which may be a bit steep, but the services provided more than cover it. Our massage ended and we were served champaign in the waiting room! They told us the drinks were on the house since it was a special occassion! WOW. Overall, this "Spa" was 100 times more than I could have imagined and will definitely be a place my friend and I visit yearly. THANK YOU!!!
Pros: Accessibility, Professionalism, Service, Atmosphere, Friendly
Cons: none

They've moved to 10722 5th Ave NE (Northgate) and the new place is GREAT! The instructors are top-notch and no 2 classes are exactly the same. If you like kickboxing or just need to do something different, give this a try - it's a great value for the money!

And this is a great place to learn.
I've been training for about a year at 7 star, and I couldn't have asked for a better environment to train in--seriously.
I was worried when I first starting training, because I was very overweight (I was at 280 pounds). I was frightened that I wouldn't be able to keep up, and that I would be made to feel out of place. As it turned out, it wasn't like that at all--the instructors work with you exactly where you are, and are patient and committed to helping you move towards your goals. In the year that I've been training I've lost over 40 pounds, and have experienced a complete overhaul in my strength and physical abilities. And it's more than just physical--I've found that training in martial arts has given me an increased confidence and a calmness in stressful and frightening situations.
Plus, the school offers a wide range of class work--not only in Kajunkenbo (which is itself a mix of five styles), but in stick fighting, Shaolin weapons, street fighting, and more. I never get bored training at this school, ever.

My 4-yr old has been at Paideia for a year and a half now and we coulnd't be happier. The low stress approach to learning is perfect for kids that age. He loves his teachers and frequently tells us he's not ready to go home at the end of the day.

I graduated from the University of Washington before they stopped honoring the "direct transfer agreement" that community college students once enjoyed. There was a time when community college students could expect entrance to the UW merely by having an AA degree and a gpa of 2.75! Now that this is no longer the case, I look a lot smarter, and so do many alumni. It's unfortunate, because many 100 level courses have that "I'm in a herd of cattle" feel to them, due to class sizes. It's often better to take lower level classes at a community college. But in addition to tightening admission standards and rapidly raising a respectable endowment, the UW has dramatically improved its facilities. In a few years, it's not going to be "our little secret (that it's a great school)" any longer!

Due to the urging of two friends, I recently signed up for a pre-natal yoga class at Eight Limbs with the famous Anne Phyfe. The class itself is excellent- just strenuous enough with great stretching, learning better breathing is key and awareness of the baby is always emphasized. Anne Phyfe is AMAZING-she sends a ripple of calm through all of her students with her voice and soft touch and excellent instruction. The studios are clean and airy and the overall vibe is just plain sweet.

Hello- This school is the BEST.
My daughter Loves it there. After only one week she is speaking more espanol, her manners improved, and overall she is becoming so well rounded. Sophia watched T.V. Alot, now she begs me to read to her all the time, Me Encanta!!!The teachers are EXCELLENT, Sincere, and very involved with the children as well as the parents. They made the transition from being at home never having a babysitter (ever!)very easy for my family. The snacks and lunches are so healthy and colorful. I plan to have mi 2yr old son go there as well. Its a very warm and loving enviroment. We were blessed to find such a clean and caring school after looking for months. I recommend this school to any parent wanting their child to learn beyond what is average. Check it out:) :) :) :) Thanks

We love it!!! We have had a wonderful year coming to the Storybook Acting class at Urban Monkeys for our group of 4-5 year olds. Our kids wait all week for this amazing, dynamic class with the very sweet instructor, Mara, who all the kids love (we carpool 5 kids from the same preschool). When they get in the car they are so excited to go to Urban Monkeys and when they arrive they run in laughing, playing, screaming with excitement! They always want to get there before the class starts to run around in the lobby and play with the toys, balls and puppets. Then, Mara comes out and they get to pick an animal that the group turns into as they line up for class. For instance, they have been worms, crawling their way into the large gym classroom.
The environment is friendly, its a truly beautiful, well-lite space. I love to sit in the lobby and soak in the sun that pours in from the huge windows (when we have it in Seattle!) with my toddler as he plays with the toys while my daughter is in class. The owners greet me every time -- very nice people -- and the other people who work at the desk are delightful!! When the children get out of class (smiling, running happily), they get to color a picture to take home that relates to the book that was read and acted out during class. It is truly one of the best moments of our week to go to Urban Monkeys!! We are so grateful that a unique space like this was created for our kids to enjoy!!

Most everyone we've met is very polite, friendly & helpful. The counselor we were assigned has been fantastic and the financial aid department was very knowledgeable and helped us get what we needed to put it all together. So far the teachers seem good!
Pros: Easy on the bus route. The teachers are still working in their fields!
Cons: Downtown Seattle
