Let's just say - I am disappointed.
I have lived in the Montlake neighborhood for one year, and have taken my garments to Jays' twice.
The first time I said I was not returning, but I thought why not give them another chance.
The first time I picked up my items and noticed a tag on my brand new sweater that read " stain on shirt could not be removed." Please consider this was the first time I had worn this black sweater. I searched and searched for the mysterious stain and never found it; however, what threw my off guard was: If you, as a business, have found a stain that you could not get out and have left a tag on my sweater - Why not communicate this to me before I leave your facility??? After all you are, supposedly, a second to none "fine cleaners."
My second experience was today. I had gone to pick up my scarf, of which I had dropped off a few days prior, and was estimated $4. To make a long story short. I paid $5.5. Its a scarf!!!
And it's not the measly $5.5, it's the principle.
In addition, the facility owners are not very friendly - it's nice to know that your money/business is appreciated.
Lastly, I would like to end this with a positive note; they did provide me with well alteration service. I might go back for that But that's a maybe.

Hard to get all excited about a dry cleaner, but I have to crow for these guys. As Rich puts it in his review, they have been in the same location for 15+ years and are part of the community. (The owners live in the next block.)
We have taken dry cleaning and shirts to them for as long as they have been there and they never let us down. Recently I took a seat cover to them that had a nail polish stain out and they got it out completely (I had tried the usual home methods to no avail).
Jay and Kathy own it; Kathy runs it and does the alterations. She does excellent work and the price is fair (if a bit steep - you get what you pay for).

Kathy and her husband have run this business, in this location, for at least 10 years that I know of. Kathy does and Excellent job with alterations and does lots of wedding dress fittings. I trust her for both fittings and very careful, high quality dry cleaning. Plus, they do a great job with wedding gown preservation for storage.
They are located in Montlake on 24th. They are right next to Mont's Market, an excellent small grocery store that is worth a visit just for the wine selection and organic produce.

Super reliable and Cathy does a great job of repairing clothes as well. As a family business, they really get to know you and they have low turnover in their staff, so you never get that blank stare as you wonder where your white shirt is.
Not the cheapest, but certainly the most reliable. We swear by them.
