I called Dr. Chyz's office because I saw him listed in Seattle's Top Dentists. From the 1st phone call contact, to the assistant who worked with me, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth and especially Dr. Chyz, the office is exceptionally professional and detail oriented. Dr. Chyz spent 2 hours with me at my first exam. Clearly, they call it "comprehensive" for a reason! He took time to find out about me as a person and to discuss my goals for treatment. Although they are not part of my insurance companys contracted dentists, Dr. Chyz's staff is very helpful with insurance estimates and letting you know in advance what to expect financially. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a caring, detail oriented and extremely skilled dental dentist. I would say to the person who wrote the review that he/she "just wanted a cleaning" that you should stick with the dentist on your managed care plan. I choose more and I choose Dr. Chyz!

Dr Chyz is clearly quite knowledgeable and skilled. He also seems to want you to believe he is the best dentist in Seattle. Unfortunately it is often difficult to know if this years' "cutting edge"... More
Dr Chyz is clearly quite knowledgeable and skilled. He also seems to want you to believe he is the best dentist in Seattle. Unfortunately it is often difficult to know if this years' "cutting edge" treatment plan is what is truly needed or is intended to pay for his latest and greatest (i.e. expensive) diagnostic implement. One thing is for sure -- if you do not agree with his latest treatment plan, he will take it very personally. Considering that he is also very expensive, this provider is ultimately not recommended.

He's probably a fine dentist, but I don't want a full-mouth reconstruction with deep cleaning and bite analysis! I just want a regular dentist. And I have the most generous insurance, but still had to co-pay, which I have never done before! Even for cleaning.

Dr. Chyz's rates are at the very high end compared to other dentists and his office demands an estimated co-pay before you walk out. From my experience I also feel he has very little tolerance for patients who might want to deviate from his treatment plan.
