I visited Spa Scotta recently for a waxing service, and was pleasantly surprised! I usually go to Gene Juarez, but the prices seemed to keep going upward and the visits were becoming shorter and shorter. The last time I was there, I received waxing in a chair and it only took about 5 minutes. At Spa Scotta, the skin therapist was very friendly and pleasant, I had a private room, and she used a treatment afterwards to calm the skin that I didn't even know existed! She did a great job. Very cute reception area as well. And I forgot to mention--lower waxing rates than Gene Juarez!

I did the spray, airbrush tan here and I would NOT recommend it. I've done airbrush tanning at other salons and this place does it differently that what I have experienced. The spray you and then blot you with a towel which leaves the tan all blotchy. The girl who did my tan left my legs all blotchy and she even missed some spots on the back of my leg and under my arm. Plus this service isn't cheap. Go to the Bronze bar in Seattle if you want a good airbrush tan.. I should have gone there!!

I think it is unfortunate that some of the reviews posted here are just mediocre, because Spa Scotta is anything but. After visits here and there to all sorts of day spas in Seattle, I have to say that Spa Scotta is my favorite. The only negative I see is that it is in U-Village, which is lovely but a parking nightmare during the holidays. However, they are right next to the parking garage, so it is it not really that big of a deal.
The reception area is beautiful and calming. They of course have the latest magazines, but their selection of products is wonderful to browse before your appointment. They have the most gorgeous pajamas, robes and candles that you'll ever see. The reception staff have always been very pleasant and professional, quick to offer a drink or anything I need to feel comfortable.
I've had a variety of services here. I highly recommend Tamara for any kind of waxing services. She is highly skilled and she strikes the right balance between being friendly and lightening-quick. She makes a not-so-pleasant experience surprisingly comfortable. After seeing her, I won't go to anyone else.
I also had a wonderful massage at Spa Scotta. The beds they use have a wonderful, feather-bed like top on them and I could have fallen asleep instantly. After your service, the staff continues to be helpful and offer water or anything else you need. At other highly-rated spas I have felt rushed out the door to make room for the next clients. Here, I felt like I could relax there until I was ready to leave. The attitude of the staff here is to go above-and-beyond. They've even responded to some of the mediocre reviews published here, which shows they deeply care about their customers.
Also, don't forget that the prices here are reasonable for a day spa of this caliber and cheaper than many in town who don't live up to their hype. Great spa services aren't cheap, but going to Spa Scotta feels like an investment in my well-being, not just a visit to a spa. I give this place my highest recommendation (especially Tamara) and assure you that it is much more than mediocre!

My girlfriend came to visit for the weekend and my husband was sweet enough to book manicures for us at Spa Scotta. Although I haven't had a manicure in ages, I must say I was a little disappointed. It wasn't the most professional of evenings and I felt as if my manicurist was hurrying the entire time. My polish was chipping after only 3 days and my cuticles look like they weren't even pushed down. Unfortunately, the real kicker is that it wasn't cheap!
Although InSpa isn't fancy, I've always felt as if I got what I paid for. Whenever I've gone to Gene Juarez (downtown location) it has always been a good and relaxing experience.
I'm sure glad I had the company of a good friend or this trip would have really been a bust!

I just had my third pedicure at Spa Scotta - it was fine. The location is good, employees are nice (some chatty, some a bit cranky - depends who you get) but for a pedicure plus a paraffin dip I shelled out 60 bucks - and don't forget to tip on top of that! The polish always lasts a long time but for $60 I may as well go to a spa where I can get a superior experience like the private rooms at Gene Juarez!

The facials I've received at Spa Scotta have been incredible. The table is so comfortable, and the ambiance in the treatment room is like the most welcoming cocoon. Tamara has the lightest yet most deft & professional touch. I always feel amazing when I leave, and the feeling lasts for days. I love the products they use, but also appreciate that the staff doesn't push products for me to buy. I love this urban oasis!

I recently visited Spa Scotta and had a great pedicure. I love the fact that they employees didn't try to force me to buy products or upsell me in anyway. The pedicure was one of the best I've received in a long time. My only complaint was that they staff members were a little chatty (both amongst themselves and with me). I just wanted a quiet time to read a magazine and relax but the staff kept talking. Very nice, but a little upsetting.

my spa scotta pedicure has lasted much longer than i would expect considering the abuse my feet take! the experience overall was fine and this would be a good place to go with friends if you all wanted to be in the same room where you could chat. the pedicure chairs are thrones surrounded by every magazine you longed to read at the grocery store line and piles of pillows. when i was there the gals giving the pedicures gabbed with each other non-stop including some routine gossip about clients and where they were going to go on vacation once they had met their weight loss goals. not quite the most professional scene but friendly and light-hearted. i had the classic pedicure which lasted almost an hour and cost $50.

While it is a nice place to go get a little pampering and relaxing treatments. The employees were kind of rude and acted like they were part of those upscale spas and salons. It was nice, to say the least, but it was not that great. It would be a nice place to stop in and get a massage while shopping, but it was a little pricey and the services were not great.

Spa Scotta is the perfect place for a little light pampering on a budget. This spa does not have all of the frills of the larger day spas - no "relaxation room" and the changing and shower facilities are basically the restrooms used by all customers. However, the service is good and the prices are reasonable. I have never had a bad experience here. In addition to spa services, Spa Scotta has great products, they carry Bed Head PJ's and other fun goodies. Best of all, parking is a snap in the attached parking garage. Enjoy!
