I bought a new MacBook Pro for school, and proceeded to knock over a can of soda on my desk onto it...then it wouldn't turn on anymore. Called Apple and asked what to do, and they said I'd voided the warranty and I had to buy a new one, to the tune of $2500. I brought it to Advanced Laptop and they said they could fix it and it would probably be 3-4 days. Not only did they fix it for only $300, but they did it in 2 days! The tech was very friendly, and not condescending like I've encountered at other computer repair places (techie guys always seem to think girls are clueless when it comes to technology!). I'll definitely come back here if I need repairs in the future...and I have learned not to drink anything while I'm on my computer. :)

I love office supply places--they are my weird secret vice. I adore the little independent ones, but of the biggies, Staples is the best. I've always had wonderful customer service from Staples. Naturally, I prefer to go to the store itself because I'm a paper-clip freak, but their website is very easy to use, and I love the fact that they have free next-day shipping if you order $50 worth (not exactly hard to do if you're buying printer cartridges, flash memory, etc.). It has saved me more than once.

We are complete idiots when it comes to computers, routers, networks, ISPs, ABCs, 123s, you get the idea, at my house. We have three computers and high speed internet and when we didn't know why we couldn't connect to the internet we freaked out. And then called PC Fix. The guy on the phone was so helpful, and kindly understanding how inept I was at the situation, and helped me to troubleshoot before setting me up with an appointment. Jay came to the house (the next day!) and with a couple of clicks, a new router, some helpful tips and tricks, we were all set up and ready to go (and much safer to boot)! They charge $50 bucks to show up at your door and then $1 a minute there-after. He charged us for 45 minutes, but he was definitely there much longer, and gave us his card so we could call him directly if anything happened after he left, and made sure we were happy!

Looking for computer parts but don't want to bother with CompUSA or the like. If need motherboards, cpus or cases they got them. You can also find some specialty parts that are usually only available online. You want to get a computer the size of a VHS tape they've got it. It's a small store so the staff are eager to help and know their stuff.

Great prices for office supplies and furniture right in central downtown, 4th & Pike. I've purchased chairs that I use in my apartment. The shipping has been free (for orders over $50). They have also have a rebate program.
Large selection of everything from computers to furniture...not always easy to find assistance but when you do, the staff are generally quite helpful.
There are weekly fliers with a wide array of prices slashed.
One caveat: it is NOT easy to return furniture, despite what the sales people may say, as you have to dis-assemble the furniture, which is nigh impossible.

Upon purchasing a new house in Seattle, purchasing a tv (a big one) was on the top of my husband's priority list. He did most of the research online and saw that Best Buy had the best selection and prices. We visited the Bellevue store and while I was less than enthusiastic about the large purchase, the salesman was very patient in understanding what we were looking for and took extra time to explain the pros and cons of each model. We were in and out in less than and hour and a new TV was delivered within the week. It was much less painful than I thought!

More
When I woke up yesterday to the ultimate black-screen-of-death on my PC, I was completely stressed out. I would push the power button and there was not so much as a whir, or even a purr, nary an inkling of life. While that is NEVER a good thing, thanks to RE PC, it wasn't a bad thing either. After an hour or so on the phone, we determined that the internal power supply needed to be replaced. Sounds scary! And I was going to have to wait 48 hours for a tech to come out, then pay a whole lot of money for parts and labor. BUT, someone suggested that I go to RE PC. Well, that was a very good idea. Although they tried to find a used Power Supply for $2.95, we couldn't. That said, I was thrilled that for $24.95 I was able to buy a new one, and they helped guide me through the process of replacing it myself. (They couldn't touch it unless I actually paid them to fix it, but it was both helpful and empowering to have them guide me through it.) Long story short, for $24.95, I was using my computer by dinner time, and am no longer scared of anything, at least not anything inside my computer's tower.

I can't go wrong when I give the people whom I love, who loves music, an Apple iTunes gift card ( http://www.apple.com/ ). The denominations run as low as $20/$25 and can be purchased at an Apple store. Visit their site for one nearest you. I liked this option because it eliminates the guesswork - I didn't have to keep track of their favorite music, if they already have it or whatnot. Give them exactly what they like, when they want it.

Those of us who use Macs know that it takes a certain level of knowledge to choose a Mac over a PC. When you go into the Mac Store you're surrounded by like-minded people who truly know what they're talking about.
I totally disagree with Jessica B, who says that the Mac Store is geared at making money off college students. College students at UW get a student discount at the University Book Store computer store... so she's way off base there.
Trust me. If you want good, solid advice regarding Mac producst, this is where you want to go.

I bought a computer there. I have been very happy with it. They have provided very good follow up service whenever I needed it. It was not the most inexpensive computer BUT I am much more interested in it working well.
My company also uses Computer Stop - Aurora and we have been very satisfied.
I would recommend purchasing one of their custom systems - or, having someone who is familiar with computers helping select a system. That is what I did.
