The Apple Soho Store is a testament that the Apple brand is to be lived, listen to, and learned. Along with its products, the store offers an array of events with highly acclaimed artists and workshops to make anyone believe that they can be a 'Techie' or the best music or animation producer on this side of the Mississippi. It's worth checking the Apple Soho Store's website on a regular basis to learn about their upcoming events (which by the way are all free of charge). Viva Apple Soho! I only use an iPod and don't even have a Mac but I adore the store and all that it has to offer. I love macs. They're so much simpler to figure out than PC's and if you work in any sort of creative field, the software you can run on a mac is so helpful (ie: Photoshop, Avid). So being a fan of their computers, I bought an iPod about 2 years ago. It broke this Tuesday so I went over to the new Apple store on 5th and 58th. The store is so modern and neat! You enter through this glass cube above ground and descend a spiral staircase to the store below ground. While they have lots of sales people on the floor to help and their tech support is open 24 hrs. I had a bit of a troublesome experience. I made an appointment for 6:40pm to see a technical and arrived right on time. However, no one told me I had to check-in with this guy walking around carrying a laptop. He had no sort of badge on to distinguish him from the other employees and there were no signs with instructions that I had to see him first. So I checked in late, when I was in fact on time. Then I had to wait another 30 min before I could see someone! Why make an appointment if it will not be honored? Also, there is basically no seating available so a small crowded stood hovering around the help desks. Turns out my iPod is totally dead and I have to get a new one =( They've started this great program where if you have a non-fixable iPod you can exchange it for a new one at a 10% discount. With such wonderful customer options like this, why can't this Apple store find a more efficient and informative way to service customers?

I just discovered the new Apple Store on 5th Avenue. It has a huge glass 'box' on the ground level that encases a spiral staircase that leads you underground to the huge store. Everything is laid out simply and clean, and I really like the natural light coming in. This particular location on 5th Avenue is open 24 hours a day! On Friday nights they bring in a DJ and you can rock out to music while you shop. The sales staff will let you explore to your hearts content but are readily available when you need help. My next computer will definitely be a Mac, and it will absolutely be purchased from this store!

This Apple Store is beautiful. Everything about it speaks to the Mac design and marketing concept. It's a joy just to spend time in it's so aesthetically great. I keep trying to justify putting an Ipod into my budget just so I can have an excuse to go shopping here, as opposed to longingly playing with their display computers. Be warned that's it's crazy evil crowded on the weekends.

Macs rock! If you agree with me you'll love the Soho Apple store. They offer free demos and many classes to teach new users all the tricks of the keyboard and toolbars. The help desk is also a great place to get your computer problems solved. An added bonus of this spot is all the available computers downstairs--a great place to check your e-mail if you left your laptop at home. Steve Jobs had a great idea when ventured into the retail world.

The store itself is gorgeous: sleek and simple, true to Apple form; the prettiest part of the architecture is the skylit glass staircase that leads upstairs. The setup of Apple products all around the store makes it possible to spend hours in the store fidgeting with the ipods, Macs, iBooks, digital cameras, speakers, and printers, and not buy a single thing. There are also tons of customer service people on both floors, so that if you have any questions, someone will be there to answer them. The best thing about this place is that they actually want you to stay in the store and test-drive all their products to ensure your product satisfaction.

Another really cool store to go to. The great thing about the Apple Store is that you can spend a long time in there, see really fascinating products, get great advice about computers, iPods, etc. and not necessarily buy a thing. The store is more to draw attention than to sell things although they obviously are happy when you do buy. Whether or not you are a Mac user, this is a great place to check out when you have time. I've seen stand alone stores in New York City and also stores in malls in New Jersey. The prices there are what you would find on the apple website, although you can probably find cheaper products through other channels.
