This is a great school to go to right after high school. They have a lot of choices for different classes and offer lots of ranges of majors. I got my associates here and enjoyed most of the classes that I took. I especially enjoyed the women's studies (Rachel David is amazing!) and it was a great overall experience. The only downfall is that I really feel like it is overcrowded. Parking is a mess and walking through the campus can be hard during the peak hours.

The only thing that keeps me from giving SCC a perfect rating is the lack of available parking. If you have class at say, 8am, you MUST get there no later than 7am to ensure a parking space within a mile of the building.
If you're not so lucky, you'll either spend an hour driving around the lot hoping for a space, or you'll be relegated to parking out in the dirt pit behind the automotive department. Not fun when it's been raining for 4 months and the 'pit' is more of a 'lake'
That being said, the professors and staff are helpful and instructive. If you're taking prerequisites for the nursing program, be prepared to be pushed hard and far and most of your teachers will give you exams that make you ask yourself "Am I taking an exam for the right class?"
The nursing program is very competitive. Unless you have a 4.0 AND years of experience as a CNA or EMT, don't even try to apply. it'll be a tremendous waste of your time and money.

I forsook my junior and senior years in high school to attend Shoreline Community College and found it to be a great school. My professors were all great ( with only one exception), and the advisors were better than the ones I had at UW. The course selection is excellent for those who want to transfer to a four year school, and for those who don't there are many fine certification programs to choose from. The campus is also very pleasant and conveniently located in north seattle.

I took only one class here, but thorougly enjoyed it (even though it was calculus and a summer class). I learned more than I learned in any other college level math class because the professor explained things multiple ways because she understood that different people respond to different techniques. This is a great college and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking at community colleges in the area.

Shoreline is a nice school and a particularly good option for students interested in automotive technology or dental hygiene. Shoreline's automotive program has sponsorships with local dealerships (Honda, Toyota, etc.) whereby they will pay for your schooling and in return when you graduate you will work for them. Not bad if you want close to guaranteed employment. Also their dental hygiene program is great and has a good reputation in the community. A nice college it is for those programs. The campus is nice too and located in driving distance to downtown Seattle.
