Bauhaus seems to attract young, hip, cool people, many of whom are apparently Seattle Central College students. They have a lot of old books for sale -- an enormous set of shelves that covers the East wall, but these are mostly for show. I used to go there more for their free wireless internet access, because I don't think that their coffee is great. But the space is cool -- at least, the layout. There are tall chairs along a bar next to a wall of windows to the West, tables outside as well. The North wall is also entirely windows. The triangular shaped upstairs space, which overlooks those who sit along both windows, has nice views. In other words, it's a place where young people go to relax and be seen, while pretending to do their school work and have coffee.

Bauhaus is the quintessential Seattle coffee shop. It's hip and brightly lit and full of the beautiful (and not so beautiful) people who make up the Seattle scene. It's on Pine right between downtown and Capitol Hill and has a view of downtown. It's also much more habitable since smoking was banished outside. For some it may be a bit TOO much of a scene, but it sure is a great place to people watch.

this is one of the coolest coffee house in the city. it is two stories, and i always sit upstairs, where you can see everything going on below, yet have a bit more privacy. theres plenty of reading and conversation going on, perfect balance of background noise and quiet. coffee is delicious, also outside seating, in case the sun actually decides to come out!

Bauhaus is open late and has great coffee. If you sit outside you also have a view of the Space Needle. Sitting inside can be nice too, especially if you sit upstairs. This is truly a neighborhood hangout which also adds to the ambiance. The snacks here though do not look very appetizing. Coffee here is not expensive and there are other drinks available for the non coffee drinking crowd.

This is a great coffee house for meeting up with friends or for people watching . I used to come here to study in college and I could get a lot done without feeling bored out of my mind. It is very 'hipster' and the people working aren't going to be the same smiley baristas you find working at brand X, but that is what makes the place cool. They do serve up a great cup of coffee and the hot chocolate is good too. It can get crowded, so don't be surprised if you can't find a seat.

I like the Bauhaus' drinks quite a bit. They make decent coffee drinks and pretty fine hot chocolate. Although I might be the only one who feels this way, the space seems to have extremely poor temperature control. I am not sure why this is exactly, but it always seems either too hot, too cold, too draft, or something. Every time I've gone there with the intention of spending some time reading or doing work I end up leaving in under 30 minutes because it's uncomfortable.

The Bauhaus is always packed with hipsters in cowboy boots and big sunglasses, especially in those prime outdoor seats, but once you get past the scene-y atmosphere, it's a great little joint. The espresso is always well-made and service is usually very quick, even on crowded mornings. The WiFi is also a big plus, if you're planning on hanging out for awhile.

This coffee house is located in Capital Hill and therefore has a unique flavor all to its own. The views of the Space Needle are some of the best in the city. The coffee is good and the walls are filled with books to read. On busy nights it is hard to find a seat. Some people come to chat, some come to study or work, other come to just hang out. I try to take all of my out-or-towners here. It never disappoints.
