Annie's playground ( http://www.anniesplayground.org/playground.html ) is a wonderful playground for kids that love to climb. It is a newer playground, close to Nathan Hale High School, the Meadowbrook Community Center and Meadowbrook Pond. The parking lot is located off 30th.
This playground has the most climbing structures so far out of all the playgrounds I have visited. There are three main structures, varied by level of ability. A wee toddler structure, a middle sized structure with a mini climbing wall and a big toddler structure for the older kids.
Along with the cool lounge chair seat swings, tile art, teeter totter, this is one of the best, not so crowded playgrounds in town.
If you also have a little naturalist, we usually walk across 35th to Meadowbrook Pond to visit the beavers.

This is such a pretty spot, right in the city of Seattle. I especially love the Arboretum in the spring, when all the trees are blooming. There are tons of trails to walk on and lots of plants for you to check out along the way. Don't miss the japanese garden - it's really breathtaking. Go in the early morning or evening and you'll have great light for pictures.

I enjoy going to neighborhood plays/musicals (in West Seattle) however a part of me aches to go into Arts West. Its just too clausterphobic and the seats are too uncomfortable.
They really need a makeover to make a few revisions to the layout as unless you are in the front row or are on and row's ending you are likely going to feel the same way.
I will likely continue to go regardless of where I end up but an upgrade would make this place so much more enjoyable.

If you haven't tried the Ballard Farmer's market lately, it is worth a visit. The vendors are offering more organic fruits and veggies than ever, and overall, the market seems to be expanding. Not only do you get to buy local, seasonal, just-picked produce, but you can have a lot of fun watching the street entertainers, other artisans, and other patrons! As some of the other reviewers have indicated, there is still enough room to move around, and this market is still dog-friendly so you see lots of dogs walking their humans here.

When I was a student at the UW, this was a great spot to drop in a get affordable acupuncture, naturopathic care, phys med, etc. I appreciate the time the clinicians took with me (1 hr per appt!) and their attention to get to the underlying cause of the health concerns I presented to them.
Pros: sliding scale rates, student drop in price of just $20!
Cons: Student clinicians change shifts every quarter

Boyer Children's Clinic has been a great help to us. They offer a wide range of services for infants and toddlers. The staff is excellent and very professional. They are very good at setting expectations and tracking progress over time. We have come to view Boyer as a part of our extended family.
