One of the first things that people notice about the Ruins is that it's hard to notice it; it has kind of an ugly, ordinary exterior. Open the door and walk in, and you will find increasing opulence. It's a private club, so if you happen to have some wine stored there, I've heard that you can legally drink it after 2:AM. The food is as fabulous as the service. NO, I cannot get you in!

More
I work for a small foundation that supports counseling for greiving children. We provide anticipatory and greif counseling to children who are losing a parent or sibling. All of our services are provided for free. Since we are a fundraising group, we need paper and envelopes for sending out thank you cards and mailers, etc. You can read more about it at www.safecrossingsfoundation.org. I am a Judy's book member so you can contact me internally.
Also, there is a great website for local non-profits called NDOA (Northwest Development Officers Association) They would be able to list this kind of donation and many local org.s could view it. www.NDOA.org

Ever since I graduated college, I stopped going to UW's Newman Center. I know they welcome everyone, but there is no parking and it just isn't convenient. However, I did love their service. The sermon was always relevant and interesting to me as a college student and the parish was young and fun. I'm still looking for a church with similar qualities in Seattle. So far, St. Joe's on capital hill is the closest.

Shalom Bayit is a wonderful program run by the National Council of Jewish Women. They accept donations of furniture and have a warehouse open to survivors of domestic violence. They have scheduled delivery dates, but if you are able to pay a minimal fee for pick up they can work with your schedule.

More
Plymouth Housing Group is a great Non-Profit housing provider that is creating and preserving buildings in Downtown Seattle. In a city where rents are skyrocketing and the poor are finding it harder to make ends meet , there is a non-profit that is doing what is right. They are helping the homeless and the disadvantaged to actually be able to reside in Seattle.

I don't visit the church as much as I probably should, but when I do I come to First United Methodist. Its located in downtown Seattle, so its right where I live and work. Best of all are the people. Everybody is a joy to be around, everyone who comes is spirited and loving and united with a common cause. It makes me happy to just walk in the doors.
