The Dome Room is located in the Arctic Building, downtown, on the corner or 3rd and Cherry. It is a banquet room that can handle over 200 people and has an antique glass domed ceiling that lights up. The dome is the highlight of the room and provides an art deco like, classy, ambiance. I had my wedding there, and with the dance floor in the middle of the room under the dome and all the tables surrounding it, you can't help but have a great time. There is also an attached area with large windows at one end that has room for buffet and extra dinner tables and a bar. I?ve looked at many different types of banquet type rooms and this one is in the low to mid price range. Arrangements are made with Tony's Catering, and you can use them as a caterer for your event or not. It gets a little pricey if you don't go with them (lots of add on charges). We chose to use them and really liked the food. Another plus is that you bring your own alcohol, which is a HUGE savings over many banquet/catering/hotel options. The feel of the room is what makes this such a great spot for weddings, parties, or banquets. I highly recommend it!

There is just so much good stuff to say about Gourmondo, I don't know where to begin.
Gourmondo was founded by Ronald Johnson and Alissa Leinonen in 1996. Back then business was conducted out of a small store-front on Western Ave., below the Pike Place Market (where I had a a sweet Valentine's Day lunch with my then boyfriend, not husband). Since then, Alissa and Ron have taken Gourmondo to the next level with a large commercial catering kitchen south of Seattle.
About at-home parties, I think there is no higher praise than I trusted Gourmondo with my in-home wedding reception. Five courses plus tray passed hors d'oeuvres and dessert, for twenty-six guests and the Gourmondo staff handled everything with style and professionalism. They got creative with our budget. The food was fabulous. The service was stellar. And, perhaps most importantly, the home was left cleaner than when they arrived (two or three hours before show-time).
Gourmondo is the only caterer in my bag of tricks. Give them a call.

This former restaurant has a great wedding planning staff, gourmet chef, and cozy feel. they have a dance floor in the middle surrounded by booths and tables, with a stage at one end, on top of which is a grand piano.
For ceremonies, the dance floor doubles as a seating area. there is a place for dj's on the stage, or off to the side if they are providing ceremony music.
The food is very very good for food catered by the venue. It is dramatic inside, great for very formal events. Also has a good view.

As a full-time working mom, I am always looking for ways to save time and feed my family, delicious, organic healthy food. I was spending (with the help of my husband) uncountable hours shopping, prepping, cleaning up after and of course cooking expensive food from expensive grocery stores. When we tacked on the cost of all the food we wasted every week, because we were too busy or not inclined to cook, we were basically throwing money out the window.
So we started researching organic, prepared food delivery. Oh, have our lives changed for the better. Every night, after about 15 minutes in the oven, we split 2 incredible meals, cooked to perfection and created by the culinary geniuses at Delicious Planet. The variety of food is staggering and everything is delicious. The menu changes weekly and you can schedule up to 2 deliveries per week -- one on Friday for the weekend and one on Monday for the week.
It costs about as much as eating out at a moderately priced restaurant, which is a JUMBO bargain for us when you factor in how much our time is worth.
We had a couple of customer-service-type items that were dealt with promptly and happily and the food really is outstanding. We have turned a few friends onto this service and everyone is more than pleased. The website is easy to navigate, although it is a touch frustrating to have to go back to the ordering list every time you update your cart.
Even if you don't use them regularly, but you know you are about to have a very busy week, they are an amazing resource for easy, wholesome, prepared food that you would be hard-pressed to improve upon -- even in a restaurant setting.
If there were more than 5 stars available, I would give this service a 6 just for the whole new dimension of added time this service provides.

I've been to two rehearsal dinners at Cater Arts. One for my brother's wedding and another for the wedding of good friends. In both cases there were around 100 guests (I think). The place sits right on the north end of Lake Union and has a great view of the Seattle skyline. Even better than the view is the food and service. Northwest cuisine served with a laid back smile. Give them a call.

My girlfriend and I have been going to the Bluwater on Greenlake for quite some time... we love the food and the staff - parking is very easy, never traffic, and the combination of dim lighting, huge booths, and soft background music rival any downtown restaurant. We highly recommend the Bluwater, especially after walking Greenlake.
