We purchased my daughter's 4th birthday cake from Borracchini's. It was one of the best, if not THE best cake I've ever had. I have been so use to getting supermarket cakes, that this cake was a welcome change. We were able to have Cinderella and the other Disney princesses put on the cake. I was extremely impressed with the service at Borracchini's! If you get a chance, also try their Pumpernickel bread :)

GARY,
I went to Maple school with you 1st grade through 6th grade. I was Teresa Sigl then, now Teresa Smith. I saw MaryLou Borrameo in a bank in South Seattle about 20 years ago and it was so nice to see her. Just wanted to say "hello" to you.

My family has been going to this bakery for decades and we will continue to go, though I think that the quality has slipped a little in recent years. Boracchini's is a great place to get cakes for any special occasion (including weddings). The only critique that I have is the cakes sometimes seem a little stale lately so I'm not sure whether they are doing something different. Nevertheless, this is a classic bakery. Call ahead to order your cake.
They also have a deli section and several shop rows of imported Italian (and other) foods. Plus, there is a party center where you can buy balloons, candles, etc.

Again, another reason I wish I had a car. I am not wild about the cakes here (the frosting is a bit too marshmallow-y for me) but their other bakery items are amazing, especially their crusty loaves of bread. Also, if you have never had one of their deli sandwiches, you haven't lived. They are very simply made, but they somehow taste gourmet.

Borrachini's Bakery and Mediteranian Maket is the place for all your party needs. Located in southern Seattle on Rainier Street, the bakery is famous for it's cakes while you wait, but it's best to call ahead so you don't have to wait too long! The buttercreme frosting is their signature and they use it to decorate with as well. If you need party supplies, you can pick them up while you wait for your cake. They have a small grocery filled with import items to flush out any event your hosting. In addition, they make wonderful home made ice creams. Their mandarin chocolate is the best!
