Brown Bear does a good job with the car. I've been there once, and they didn't get my rims entirely clean, but I'd say that the wash is worth the price ($13 if I recall correctly). Plus you get to feel good knowing that you're only wasting water, not dumping toxic chemicals back into the ecosystem.

I love this car wash and my car gets the pampering very often. The staff is friendly and very courteous…most important does a great job in cleaning the interior and exterior of my car. The price is very reasonable compared to other local car washing services. However, it might get quite busy sometimes, I usually get my car pamper in the mid afternoon when its much slower.

Brown Bear Car Wash is conveniently located on Leary Way in Ballard/Fremont and it’s usually pretty busy. It doesn’t seem to be any more or less expensive than any other self service car wash place. It’s the usual process – you put the quarters in and you get to control what you get out of the hose – prewash, soap, wax-like stuff, etc. They also have the big industrial vacuum cleaners there as well, so you can get your car spic and span inside and out.

This location is a combination of self-serve and automated washing (exterior machine, interior self) and the prices are more than reasonable ($7 for a basic wash) and the no-scratch equipment doesn't leave you wanting for a new paint job.
