I've had their espresso several times, and it's honestly some of the worst I've found in Seattle. Nice store, attractive drinks, but whats the use when it tastes that bad?

The best coffee ever. I think i am addicted to their coffee and the service is great too. Nice people and now they have one in downtown seattle right opposite REI's parking.
Lovely!

I've enjoyed Vivace for years & am a regular evangelist for their coffee beans (& drinks). I regularly send beans to all my friends all over the country & have even made a few fans overseas.
Once you elevate your taste buds, it is really hard to go anywhere else.
Their beans are freshly roasted so you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee in your jammies (although you could probably go out in your jammies in Capitol Hill & not turn any heads!).

I am a regular at both of Vivace's café locations -- the one on Capitol Hill and the newest location across from REI in South Lake Union.
I can't seem to get my fill of the perfect caramel flavor of their coffee. It's not just the coffee, either -- it has as much to do with perfectly steamed milk and foam the graces each latte with peaks of velvety wonder. I can't stop gushing about this place!
I have to say I am also most impressed by the fact that the owner of Vivace has taken a consistent stand in making environmental causes (including carbon emissions) an important aspect of his business profile. Amazing coffee and good business practices -- what more can you ask for?

I was first turned on to Vivace by a friend when I moved to Seattle. Although I don't live on Capitol Hill, I make a trek over to Vivace with surprising regularity. It has also become a stop on my 'Seattle City Tour' for guests that are visiting Seattle.
Their coffee is incredibly good, it seems to possess a level of refinement that you just don't get at other coffee shops. Even guests that don't appreciate good coffee can appreciate the latte art that is carefully created on the top of each latte. This location is also adorned with photos of different and unique latte art.

Went to Cafe Vivace on Capitol Hill for the first time today. Very cool place with great coffee, er, espresso. It's an important distinction because they serve no drip coffee at Cafe Vivace. It's all espresso drinks. And it it top quality. I had an Americano and it was the first one I've ever had that didn't make me pucker up or shudder because of the bitterness.
The space is good, too. Lots of room, lots of seating. they have counter space along the windows and each section is a different type of Italian marble, which is pretty cool as well. It's a little loud, largely because of the music. I found myself talking too loudly a couple times.
Oh, and they roast their own beans right there in the store in a glass enclosed room so you can go check it out if you're curious about roasting.
But if you love a good espresso and are on Capitol Hill you need to check this place out.

If you're wanting to make a very beautiful cup of espresso, you would do well to check out their video and their books. Their style of presentation has been imitated by many, and some are on par with them. And their baristas go through extensive training before they are allowed to the counter. They roast the coffee on site, so don't worry about freshness or flavor! Not many espresso bars have an classical styled oil painting the size of a sofa on their wall or marble countertops all around, and these are definitely part of their branding. They want to create an artistically crafted experience of coffee.
