The people who work there are AWESOME! Great service, great conversation, and they really do know your names. The food has always delighted. If you are looking for great conversation and a nice selection of Beer and Wine, this is the place. The fellow travelers that eat and enjoy the beverages are always warm and friendly as well. So whether solo or a group of you, you are sure to have a terrific time at Circa's. ET and MW
Pros: Better Than Cheers
Cons: Parking sometimes

After waiting 50 minutes for our food to arrive, had to give up and walk out. Regrettably, as we were both very hungry! Last straw was seeing another table served after having been seated 15 minutes prior. Several patrons seated, served and paid while we waited. Waitress was polite and very apologetic, but there comes a point when you just have to head for the exit... Impulse decision to drop in; won't likely come back anytime soon. Longtime local neighbor.

I just died and woke up in Sunday brunch heaven. The angels at Circa in West Seattle served me the banana pancakes with pecan maple syrup and perfectly cooked bacon. My boyfriend had the chorizo scramble with coffee cake. About half way through the meal we both started giggling. I still have a huge smile on my face and a happy feeling in my belly. Seriously you guys...I think this was the BEST BRUNCH I've ever had. Oh, and when we asked the lovely waitress why the food coming out of their kitchen was SO good...she said: "because it's made with love". Hello?! Enough said, just go there.

Just had a terrific dinner at Circa last night. It's always hard to pick, there are a number of very strong selections. The meatloaf is unbeatable. I can highly recommend the steak also. Crab cakes are very good also. This is truly a neighborhood joint and I always feel comfortable hanging out and chatting with patrons and staff. One of the other patrons told me he thinks of it as the neighborhood "Cheers". I've met a number of very nice people and the staff is very attentive and friendly. There are now a lot of choices for dining in West Seattle, but I find myself going back to Circa again and again. They only serve wine and beer, I am voting for hard liquor to be added. But, the beer choices are far from ordinary and there are always a couple more exotic european choices that I have found to be very good.
Pros: Great food, great service, great ambience
Cons: No hard alcohol

I eat at Circa weekly if not more and love the servers there. Here's the problem, it's a neighborhood pub with really great food, not the Four Seasons. You pathetic whiners who want your butts licked up and down can f-off to whatever the "hot" new restaurant is, you nouveau rich pansies. None of the servers are underage and they all have a great rapport with the regulars and the place is constantly full. So take your whining about being served by people with a personality out of my neighborhood.

I am really surprised to see bad reviews of Circa. My husband and I drive all the way from Edmonds for the delicious pub grub (bacon-wrapped meatloaf with demiglace and mashed potatoes, BBQ chicken salad, mmmm!), generous pours of well-priced wine (his favorite feature), and fun servers. Circa is always busy, and the girls are hauling butt around this little restaurant. Anytime they have made a mistake, I've been compensated with a drink or dessert, which is more than any other restaurant in town will do. Their chocolate layer cake is totally worth being served the wrong entree for!

The food is great but the service is atrocious! I agree with the person who made the comment about the immature waitresses. My friends and I still order to go some times and even the service when you go to pick up your food is TERRIBLE! So many restaurants work hard to ensure that the customer is happy so I am just amazed that the owner of this place allows his wait staff to be so inattentive, blatantly impolite and downright trashy. I never write reviews on city search but had to get this out there after 2 years of watching this place function like this.

The food is good, but if you're going to see your waitress eat dinner, talk on the phone, and fraternize with her (seemingly underage) friends while you're waiting for your order, is it really worth it? No. I think not. We had to ask to get napkins. That's how lousy the service is.
We have been going to Circa since we arrived in West Seattle (about 4yrs ago). Circa used to be staffed by mature, adult waitress. In the last year to six months they have shifted their staff to untrained, inattentive, teenagers unable to deliver decent restaurant service. Considering the class of restaurant that Circa is (upscale, neighborhood pub/bistro) I expect more. I am very unhappy with Circa, and I don't expect to visit them anytime soon.

I have been frequenting Circa on and off for the past 2 or so years and really love it! They have had a new chef for approx. a year, and her food is so good - her specials seem to take advantage of local and seasonal produce and fish that would rival anything you'd find in the downtown restaurants....and for half the price!
The wine list is full of things you wouldn't normailly find at a neighborhood pub (no smoking loon or columbia crest here!) and at a great price! They also have great chalkboard wine specials and a nice amount of local and European beers.
The service is personable and usually full of smiles...they can be bit sassy, but these women are busy and know how to work...especially at lunch!

I have been eating at Circa for years, and was shocked to hear all the negative service comments! Maybe the regulars get preference? In addition to moderately priced good food, I have always found the atmosphere to be friendly and gregarious. The staff and the customers are all delightful! Sitting alone at the bar and eating is a great pastime and interesting, intelligent conversation is guarenteed. Could it be that these comments come from a night I don't eat there?
