I love this store. It's a one-stop spot for getting any travel book you need. Their selection extends far beyond guidebooks, offering travel literature, essays...if they don't have what you want, they'll order it. If you're not sure which guide is right for you, the store staff really know their stuff and can help you decide. In addition, they are all well-traveled and can guide you toward other resources if you ask.

Sports Specialties is a great place. I get my children's shoes and equipment there every year. It is the only place that has a variety of small kids soccer shoes, shin guards, socks, etc. The other stores only have one or two choices. I am also an Athletic Director and we get our team jerseys for the whole school K-8th grade from Denzel! He has a quick turnaround and does a great job!

I love office supply places--they are my weird secret vice. I adore the little independent ones, but of the biggies, Staples is the best. I've always had wonderful customer service from Staples. Naturally, I prefer to go to the store itself because I'm a paper-clip freak, but their website is very easy to use, and I love the fact that they have free next-day shipping if you order $50 worth (not exactly hard to do if you're buying printer cartridges, flash memory, etc.). It has saved me more than once.

Ave Copy stands a head and shoulders above the rest of the copy shops on the Ave. The service is truly great - I had a book that I needed to copy, and they stayed open 10 minutes late for me to finish copying, and got the machine set up perfectly so I could copy quickly and also cheaply. I prefer Ave Copy to Rams and Professional Copy on the Ave - the copies are a little cheaper (6 cents each as opposed to 8) and the service can't be beat.

I can always find what I need at this store. In fact, while working at a nearby store, I regularly sent customers who couldn't find items we had in stock to this neighborhood gem. They stock a wide variety of products, have good prices, a friendly staff, and will be happy to special order items for you, should you require this service. Street parking usually isn't an issue.

My hats off to Platt Electric. Not only do
they provide a good price on any electrical
product they have the best customer
service. I use Chris Alfano. He's been in the
business for years. He's always at his
desk, he always returns my calls promptly
and most of all, he knows the business
inside and out. Platt is a great company
because they are family run and have
the community at heart. They donate
to a lot of the arts/theater/music
community and that makes a difference.

More
If you're shopping at Dania, it's because you've realized that IKEA doesn't exactly cut it anymore but you still can't afford to spend $10,000 on a couch. The quality of their furniture seems pretty high. You won't find a lot of particle board here. I've purchased a dining table, two sofas, an armchair, and an ottoman from them and all items are still sturdy and look great. I'd say they beat places like Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel in terms of prices and value. However, Dania mostly carries contemporary styles that are best described as "Scandanavian" in design. It always seemed to me that their selection of more traditional furniture is smaller, but maybe that's because I've never sought that out.
The salespeople are always very helpful (patient and not at all pushy), though they get pretty busy on weekends. They're very willing to go through the many binders and books at the counter as well as call around to find out your options for a particular piece. Since this store location is kind of small, if you don't see exactly what you want out on the floor, I'd recommend you ask what else is offered in the same line. You might also go to check out their store down in Southcenter since its showroom is a lot bigger.
The delivery service was great. Because they had the furniture in stock, I got a couch, armchair, and ottoman delivered just days after buying them. The delivery guys were on-time, friendly, and fast.
