Artech is the best place in town for framing, art handling and other services. It's pretty much the only place that offers such a high level of quality, not just in Seattle, or even in Washington, they're one of the best in the nation. Really. They're passionate and they hire local artists.

I just recently moved from Seattle to Tempe, Arizona and used Pacific Movers, which is the local Seattle branch of Wheaton Movers, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Even though it's a large company, every step of the way felt local and family owned.
Kevin Smith came to do the estimate. He stayed for about an hour was really thorough and helpful in answering all my questions. Don Moe was the driver (his wife took inventory) and picked up my stuff with a couple of guys. Everyone was really nice and professional and super efficient--even the dispatcher was really helpful when I misplaced Don's number and wanted to confirm arrival time.
I lived in my one bedroom apartment for six years of grad school and had accumulated a lot of stuff--books and wedding presents especially. They picked it all up in exactly an hour and a half, and when they delivered it they put everything back together that had been taken apart and were done in about two and a half hours.
The total came to about $3700 which was a few hundred lower than the estimate itself--probably because I got rid of a bunch of stuff just before the move, which leads me to believe that the estimate itself was pretty darn accurate. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get it together early enough to get more estimates, though my experience with Kevin left me trusting him.
The only down side was that they allocate two days that they might come to pick up and same for the drop off, though they confirm 24 hours in advance and then stick to it. Also, I had to wait a week and a half for my stuff which was a bit on the long side, but I was the first pick up and the last drop off so I guess that's to be expected. They were really good about calling to confirm the day before exactly when they'd be arriving and then getting there within minutes of the time they quoted, though.
Although the time windows were a little annoying, it struck me more as a matter of honesty about when they could actually come unlike some stories I've heard where they'll set up a definite appointment and then flake at the last minute. So anyway, I'd definitely use them again.
Oh, and one more thing--because of Seattle city ordinances that don't allow really large trailers to park in the city, there was an extra charge for the shuttle that they had to bring in, but they were up front about that and there were no extra fees or hidden charges. And they take care of arrangements with the city to block off parking spaces and stuff like that.

While in the market for a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid I requested several quotes on-line from all of the various Seattle area Honda dealers. Some refused to quote me a price by e-mail while others pressured me with repeated phone calls in an attempt to earn my business. Because my job and business travels keeps me quite busy, a competitive quote via e-mail with a prompt and courteous response was key without numerous call hassling me to come into the dealership.
I was fortunate to have James Bennett of Honda of Seattle respond to my initial e-mail. He was courteous, professional and above all, patient. I stopped in for numerous times to test drive and look at the car as I debated which color I wanted. Over the course of 3 months, James never pressured me to buy. He made me a fair offer which he stood by until I was ready to buy. When that day came, I showed him a quote from another dealer that was $200 less. While I did not expect him to beat it but was hoping he would match it. He said he would beat it by another $100. Because I knew both MSRP and invoice an was paying just a few hundred dollars over invoice I knew I was getting a great deal.
The process went very smoothly and there was never a pressured sell for unnecessary add ons, warranties, etc.
I highly recommend Honda of Seattle!

I was a Big O customer before I moved to Seattle in 2001, so when I needed 4 new tires for my truck, it was natural to call them up. I got a great deal on those 4 tires and didn't really pay attention to the warranty and guarantees. Then I drove over a piece of concrete just after Thanksgiving and put a big hole in the sidewall. I was expecting to have to buy a new tire or at least pay for the repair. They gave me a free tire - there is a road hazard warranty. Great!
The store is always busy, so don't expect quick service, but everyone is courteous and patient. They recently had someone crash through their front window so it looks a little strange with plywood covering half the front of the store. Parking is difficult in their lot due to the volume they do, but they can count on me as a customer in the future.

More
I stopped in to Acura of Seattle last week as I was out shopping for a RELIABLE Japanese economy car to replace my high maintenance BMW. I was planning to get a Honda Civic Si, but all of the local dealers in Seattle were out of stock and not willing to budge an inch on the $25,999.00 price tag. Ouch. Quite a bit for a Honda. ...so I checked Honda's luxury line, Acura.
I spotted a few Acura RSX's left on the lot. Turns out Acura will quit making the RSX after 2006 and what was on the lot was all that was left! To my surprise 3 of them were Type-S cars. This is the higher-end equivalent of the Civic Si. AND they had SILVER, my first color choice. :-)
The deal came together quickly, and I was pleased with the trade-in allowance this dealer gave me for the BMW. It was a few THOUSAND dollars more than the Honda dealers would give me. While they didn't budge from the asking price for the car (they had the last ones left in the state of Washington apparently), the trade allowance made the car about the same price as the Civic Si - and loaded with more features!
Now, for the patience part... Most everyone I spoke with at the Dealership was a new employee. Not sure why, but they were all on a learning curve, and this resulted in LONG waits and a couple of screw-ups on their part. Nothing too major, but I would suggest keeping a close tab on how the process is moving along as a buyer.
The sales agent was GREAT - you have to ask for Clyde when you stop by. No pressure, always smiling and laughing (even at MY jokes!), and anything but a "used car salesman" personality. A couple of observations: The Sales Manager while at first friendly, became very standoffish once the deal was sealed. Maybe he's just a busy guy, but I expected better from Acura. Also, watch out for the after-purchase "options" that will come flying your way when you sign the loan docs. I did opt for the Lojack and Gap insurance, but if I would have taken it all my price would have been over $7,000.00 more! Just know what you want, and what you don't before you go in.
The receptionists, while young and attractive, are also young and clueless. But, with a little persistence they did ask the Sales Manager what should be done next, and semi-quickly resolved the delays.
I love my new Acura, and the Dealership will get good ratings from me on their survey. I'm sure the kinks in the processes will work themselves out as the staff is on board longer. :-)

I have been doing business with Discount Tire at Northgate for a number of years. It all began when I stopped in with a flat tire. They were friendly and fixed the tire without cost to me. At that point, I wasn't a paying customer. They day came when I needed new tires and I remembered the great experience of their helping me without it costing me a time. I thought, "I owe them one", so I bought 4 tires and it was the beginning of a happy marriage. I've not had one bad experience with them for at least 8 years.

i bought my car there and it was great (sales rep Ed Oliver). then i accidentally got a little tear in my tire, so i went down to get it checked out by their service people. they were super friendly: even showed me how to change my tire (ok, it's my first car ;). the guy had been working there for over 20 years and said that the tire was going to be fine but moved it to the rear to be safe and then rotated my tires and washed my car -- all for free! kathy at the desk is super nice. she'll take care of you and is very knowledgeable. her family owns burien honda and they really care about customer service and making sure you walk away happy. in summary, i have had great experiences with buying and servicing my honda at this dealership and would recommend it to anyone else who would be willing to go a little out of their way (from Seattle).

After having a terrible experience at Burien Toyota, I headed up to Lake City. They were willing to take their time and didn't pressure me at all on buying. I spent more time talking to the salesperson about photography than him trying to sell me a truck.
I also received a thank you call from them for mailing them a pair of extra keys. That says a lot!
Pros: will take as much time as needed
Cons: nobody ever feels like they got a deal at a dealership ;)
