We ordered a birthday cake and it was tasteless, dry, and tiny for $35. The women that work there also need to work on their customer service skills and attitude. Awful! Pros: None! Pike's Place is an icon - it is so quintessentially Seattle. I love to wander through here on my lunch hour and just take in the sights and smells. There are the fish throwing guys, of course and the flower vendors - and the food - ahhh, the food! My favorite place for fish and chips is actually across the street from the "main" market - Jack's Fish Spot, you can eat here at the counter for $6 and man is it GOOD. You really can't go wrong anywhere. If you're planning a visit to Seattle do not miss the market, and if you want a really "authentic" experience, go really early in the morning when the vendors are setting up. You'll miss the crowds (which are awful in the summer) and really get a feel for the magic of the place.

This little Chicken stand in the middle of Pike's Place has it's own certain charm. They sell fried chicken legs, wings, gizzards, and livers. Sound appealing? Actually, most of the time it's not bad, but it is what it is. The fried chicken legs are greasy, in an appealing sort of way. The same lady has been running the place for years, and although she's not all that warm, and fuzzy, she's a monument of Chicken Valley who can always be seen behind the counter.

What more can be said about Pike Place Market? A must see for every visitor to the city, the nice thing is that it doesn't come off as a typical tourist trap. In fact, there always seems to be as many locals going about their shopping as there are tourists checking out the flying fish. Make the obligatory visit to the world's first Starbucks, then wonder below street level to browse the interesting and unique shops. Visiting the market is always a new experience because it is always changing. Highly recommended.

Most people think of the marke when they think of Seattle and a lot of tourists go to the market. However, this is also a fully functional market used by nearby restaurants and locals. It is a fun place to go whether you are visiting or on your lunch hour, shopping for a special meal or just perusing the huge selection. This is the hands-down best place to get fresh seafood and local produce. Not to mention you can buy the most amazing bouquets of flowers for unbelievable prices. It's easy to know what's in season by checking out the flower market. The market gets very crowded on weekends and it would be hard to negotiate the isles with a stroller. I would save this for the weekday to make sure you're able to experience the whole market. It's much bigger than it appears from the outside.

Pike Place is a great place to go to get locally grown produce, locally-made crafts, something to make for dinner later and many other things. People watching is superb, too. My favorites are the flower ladies (go in the morning for best selection) and the fresh produce. Locals really do go here to get stuff for their kitchens. A tip: don't go on a weekend - especially if cruise ships are in town; the market fills up fast. In winter this isn't a problem. Weekday mornings are best for serious shoppers. For the casual visitor, any time is a good time.

You will find lots of seafood, organic produce, fresh flowers, and many local artisans. The parking garage even offers 1st hour free parking. While it's fun to walk around here and check out stands and restaurants. You will notice many parts of the market really needs a face lift.
