I wanted a quote on a new furnace. This place had been recommended to me as giving fair prices and excellent service. I telephoned and made an appointment for a quote. The sales rep came out, took a look, measured my home, talked to me about my needs, and in a few days I received a detailed quote with several clearly-delineated variables. I emailed him for clarification on a couple of points and got an immediate response.
I had the work done, and I was very impressed with how clear the office staff was on how long the installation was likely to take. That was helpful. The staff who came out were very nice fellows and hard workers. They even took the trouble to explain to me how to clean the filters in the Honeywell air cleaning system attached to the old furnace. They reattached it to the new one, and told me that it was the same, essentially, as the systems they are selling now. I appreciated that they did not try to convince me I needed a new one, when it just needed cleaning.
Later, I had my ducts cleaned by the same company. Again, I was very impressed by the courteous and detailed service I received. The guy took special pains to keep my carpets clean and to make sure my cats did not escape outdoors.
PROS: They know what they are doing, and they treat you right
CONS: No negatives

These guys aren't the cheapest, but they are the best. They will take their time to properly do the prep work needed to make your paint job last and look great. If there's a problem, they'll come back and fix it, no hassle at all. And, they're pretty easy on the eyes themselves. I've seen firsthand the difference between a quality paint job and something that gets slapped up in a day or two -- these guys are definitely a notch ahead and their prices are competitive, too!

We met Falling Water Designs from the Flower and Garden Show in Seattle. The garden design was People's Choice that year. We hired them for a new house we were building. They installed a 40' water-fall in the back yard, along with beautiful Ipe deck, 24x24 paver deck front patio and assorted garden plantings. Their crew are hard working and their work is stellar. This is our second season and the yard has matured as beautifully as we had hoped. Thanks Rick & Ken (and crew). You guys rock!

I've used this company twice and they are the most professional and best priced outfit in town for the money. Their crews are top-notch and do great work. They also clean-up every night and are respectful of neighbors and your landscaping. Easy to work with, best bids, and quality staff.

CrossCuts has an amazing selection of lumber. Exotic wood that you can't find elsewhere. This is not for the typical Home Depot weekend warrior, but for the serious woodworker. Everything from cedar to purple heart wood, seeing is believing. They have whatever type of wood you are looking for. My personal favorite is quartersawn white oak and they have a ton of it!

When my Munchkin boiler (which heats my entire house and potable water) malfunctioned over the Christmas holidays, I called Reed Wright and found Tim to be very knowledgeable - and helpful. He could have easily charged me for an on-site service call, but instead talked me through fixing the problem on my own without hesitation. I would have gladly paid for the service call in any event, because their minimum onsite call charge was half of two other shops I had called (and the others didn't even try to analyze my problem over the phone!)

We used Dovetails custom cabinet shop to build our kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. They produced great cabinetry within the timeframe specified, Prices can be high but are cheaper than contempory modular cabinetry (arc linea etc) for similar levels of finish in real wood or veneered custom cabinetry.
Attention to detail on design is great - down to matching directions of grain etc.

I have to disagree with the previous review. We hired Conner to remodel our basement a few years ago, after they did a beautiful job on a friend's kitchen. They aren't cheap, but Denny & the designers were sensitive to our cost concerns and worked closely with us to make sure we got what we wanted but at a total cost we could afford. We never felt pressured to do something we didn't like, though we got frank advice about where we should and shouldn't be thrifty, for resale value and to avoid expensive problems down the road. To a person, workmen were efficient, polite, and did quality work. When a giant sinkhole was discovered under the house, involving the main support beam, it could have set us back weeks. Instead they got all the right people in to inspect, make a plan and shore up the foundation in less than a week. The project was still completed on time, and we couldn't be happier with the results. In fact, now we're hiring them for a kitchen remodel later this year.
