Amazon doesn't have most of their products...their merchants do, and they are not in the business of selling products so much as they are in the business of receiving money from customers on behalf of merchants and then holding on to the money for investment purposes (1.4billion last quarter in cash and equivilents), while the small business owner waits for money that sometimes takes 3 months to get. There database system is so screwed up that it is impossible to input your product information into their system without it changing your product description, resulting in lots of customers getting the wrong item, and the merchant being 'under review' for having sent someone the wrong item. GIVE ME A BREAK! Amazon is a monopoly that competes with their own merchants to cause price downgrades to cause more cash inflow to screw more small business owners. This is old news. I wouldn't buy anything from Amazon for nine billion dollars AND a rocket. You are better off going to a shopping comparison site and buying DIRECTLY from the merchant. Then they don't also get charged up to 20% by Amazon for the purchase! I put them in the same class as WalMart. Unethical. Go to Google like everybody else and press the shopping button. You're sure to get a better deal on what you want and the merchant who sells it to you will be much much happier. The world will prosper and Jeff Bezos can fly to Mars on his merchant-funded rocket.

Amazon has just about any book you are looking for, often even books the large and impressive King County libarary system doesn't cary. Prices are decent, usually a few dollars less than other national retail book stores. I especially enjoy their pre-order service, no waiting in long lines for long anticipated titles because your copy arrives in your mailbox in a timely manner after the release date.

Amazon is one stop shopping. You could furnish your home. Buy the clothes on your back and shoes for your feet. Get yourself a few books and movies - as well as something to play them on. All in one place. You can even buy yourself wine! The downside is Amazon is something of a monopoly and sometimes it doesn't have the best prices but it is one stop shopping.
PROS: One stop shopping
CONS: Not always the best pricing

In a nutshell I had a terrible experience with their customer service. Had to look up a phone number myself, and had customer service reps tell me nicely that I am not very smart along with a whole list of can'ts...can do this, can't do that....etc.
All I really wanted was an admittal that the book description was misleading.
Pros: None
Cons: Bad Customer Service

Anything you need, they have it. I ordered so much from them over the holidays, and it was so easy. The features on the website that allow you to change or cancel orders before they are sent out is great. The only reason I gave them a 4 stars is because one item that I ordered for a family member for christmas did not show up on time.
