My need : simple. Three copies of my house key. My local Loewes : completely unable to get the job done. I wasted over an hour, making THREE return visits before I abandoned the project. Looked here on Judy's Book, found the listing for Broadway Locksmith...and got my keys made. Correctly. They were friendly, knowledgeable and were able to explain to me what Loewes couldn't. Hardware Stores use a machine which automatically creates the key. If the machine gets out of alignment, then the operator can't do anything about it, except produce bad key after bad key. As a final note : while I was in there, a very stressed-out girl came in, who was about 12 or so. She was completely stressed out, as she had locked herself out of her house...and her mom wouldn't be home for hours. "But I have the money to pay you in the house," she said. "I promise." "No problem," the counterman said. "It'll take me a little while to get there, cause I'm the only one here right now." She sighed in relief and sank down into a chair. "This has been such a day. I left my jacket on the bus and..." Her face darkened. "Um...is it okay if I use your phone? I guess I have to call and tell my mom." And here I was, thinking I'd had a bad day....

Awhile ago I had a few spare keys for my condo at Broadway Locksmith. The shop is a small building just a block off Boradway. The service was quick and very polite. Additionally, all the keys worked flawlessly when I returned to my condo. This was certainly nice as other keys I had copied at places like Home Depot would work, but never quite as well as the original keys.

I needed to have my mailbox lock replaced. I called Broadway Locksmith and someone arrived within ten minutes. I buzzed him in, and he had the old lock off my mailbox before I could even get down to the lobby. Ten minutes later, he was all finished. I couldn't ask for faster, friendlier service! These guys are the best!

I’ve gone to this place when I’ve need to get keys re-cut and also to purchase safes. It’s a small place, so I had to wait, but once it was my turn, their service was top notch. They cut my keys very quickly, correctly, and for a good price as well. I would definitely go back.

So when I first moved to Capitol Hill I needed a few sets of keys made for my apartment. Luckily I happened across Broadway Locksmith. Broadway Locksmith has some extremely fast and courteous service. I was able to have 4 sets of keys (set consisting of 3 keys) completed in less than 5 minutes. The locksmith did not even have to search for the key blanks. Although I think the keys were fairly standard he knew right where to pull them off the rack and began cutting immediately. Broadway locksmith caters to individuals as well as commercial businesses with services ranging from auto, home and luggage locks to safes and master key making. They also fit keys into existing locks so if you loose keys you do not have to replace locks. Broadway Locksmith is located one block up E John from Broadway in Capitol Hill. Highly recommended.
