I was the said friend of the last review for Rush's. I have to agree that it sucks that she was misled on being able to try a dress on, I know she was looking forward to that.

On the flip side, they did look like they had nice dresses, and they did not kick us out so we could still browse.
*sigh* if only I was planning my own wedding (actually been married awhile.. don't plan on planning another one).

I just had an unpleasant experience at Rush's Bridal in downtown Minneapolis on Nicollet Mall. Now, I just got engaged 1 week ago. I'm still glowing. I was so excited to take my lunch hour today to go look at dresses for the first time with a good friend who will be in the wedding herself. We climbed the 2 flights only to get told that we would need an appointment to even try on a dress. From their ads, it makes it seem like you only need an appointment to try on dresses from the "special racks". Well, knowing that I probably could not afford those racks anyway, I didn't make the appt. After all, this was a quick look see. I only
intended to try on one or two dresses, just to say that I can do that now! Because I really am engaged and I never dreamed I would ever get married. I was very disappointed. All I could do was look and there were at least 6 open rooms. I didn't want any assistance, all I wanted to do was look.

This is a large store with a pretty good selection of dresses. I liked that they let you browse and pick out the dresses you wanted to try on, but it would have been nice if they offered a few more...

This is a large store with a pretty good selection of dresses. I liked that they let you browse and pick out the dresses you wanted to try on, but it would have been nice if they offered a few more suggestions. The owner is great and found an extra piece of fabric from a bridesmaids dress that I liked so that I could take it home with me. I didnt end up buying a dress here, but would have felt comfortable doing so because they have been in business a long time and have a good reputation.

If you are on the website there is a nice feature of receiving an online price quote for your dress. It is touches such as those that make Rush's a staple in the Minneapolis bridal salon business.
