My boyfriend is a total comics junkie, and sometimes I get a little antsy waiting for him to rifle through every thin little publication on the planet, At Zanadu, though, there is so much variety that I can always find something to look at or read while he browses. There are good art books, and totally weird, random toys to look at.
Since we go there so often, I can also venture to say that it's a good store for the truly comic book inclined, otherwise my comic obsessed fella wouldn't make it a weekly stop.

More
Whether you're interested in anime & manga, comic books/graphic novels and art books, fantasy and sci-fi novels, collecting action figures and statues, board games, tabletop war games or pen & paper role-playing games; this store has it all and then some. Located in downtown Burien across from a bank, the store isn't that large, but is packed from wall to wall, floor to cieling with as much as they can fit.
The casual shopper can find whatever gift or object they'll need easily and if you're a hardcore collector there are some uncommon and probably even rare finds if you look hard enough. And if what you're looking for isn't in the store, just politely ask one of the employees and they'll be able to try and order it for you. Though if it's no longer being produced it will likely take a while to get.
As with most stores of this nature, hours are short. The store is open all week but usually opens at 10 or 11 in the morning and often closes by 6 at night.
The only real downside to the store is that it's packed so full that one can easily get lost. In the back are piles of boxes with labels scribbled on in marker. Older, out of production items may be tucked away in boxes in places hard to get to. You might look for an hour for a rare item and not find it simply because it's put back so deep that you couldn't see it. Making it best to ask if they have what you're looking for if you can't find it on your own.
Overall Wonderworld is arguably the best store of its kind in the region. If you're looking for anything I listed at the beginning and can't find it where you normally look, try Wonderworld, you'll probably find it.

If you are planning a trip, this is the place to go. You can always find an appropriate book, or a helpful item to take with you. In addition, the staff is amazing -- they are travelers themselves, and often have helpful information to share. The events at the store are also wonderfully informative and well-organized.
Cons: helpful staff, great selection

What a great atmosphere! We were wandering aimlessly through Pike Place Market at night and were drawn to this little red door that leads to the White Horse Trading Co. Inside we found a charming, much overlooked hole-in-the-wall wine bar. It was apparent that most of the patrons there were regulars as they were obviously on good terms with the bartender. The menu consisted of a few choice wines and a few beers, each which they rotate as they open a new bottle/case. It is made to look like a traditional English library, lined with bookshelves that are lined to the ceiling with worn, hardcover books. Definitely a great find!

This store is a somewhat small used bookstore on one of the main streets in west Seattle. It has a very quite environment that encourages browsing. Like many used bookstores in Seattle the fiction section is very good while the non fiction sections don't offer many choices. Prices are average for a used bookstore and the customer service is top notch.

Whenever I am in Seattle (far from where I live) I visit this shop. If you go to a bookstore, even a good one like Eliot's, further down 1st Ave, your choices are limited to the current crop of books, most of which are not good enough to survive the decade. Wessel & Lieberman has the books good enough to survive the decades, of all kinds. Collectibles, but not just that.
Pros: short walk from Pioneer Square.

This is a nice rare book shop on 1st Ave. Don't be expecting your typical book browsing experience. The shop is for those people who are looking for those rare or antique books. General browsing can be done but is limited to the classics, history, poetry, and a few other sections.
The staff is certainly nice. If you have been searching for some rare book, then give Wessel & Lieberman a shot.

Wow, what a cool, cool place to spend those formative young adult years! I attended the University of Washington for my undergraduate studies and really had the time of my life! The campus is beautiful with it's collegiate gothic architecture, cherry trees, and cool views Mt. Rainier and Lake Washington / Portage Bay. The UDistrict is a busy area that has great shopping and even better food (Agua Verde - love it!).
The best part, of course, is campus life! There is so much diversity, so many interests and talents! This school offers study in nearly every subject imaginable! For a university of this size, the professors and TAs were always great about giving students the time and assistance they need.
I can't imagine having a more fulfilling college experience!

This is the grand bookstore of all bookstores in the area. They have everything. Good bargains. Textbooks. I often buy picture framing supplies here, along with stamping and scrapbook supplies for my sister. They have an onsite coffee joint, readings by many authors. Lots of free parking if you buy.
