An Open Book, located in the Short North is a really neat little book shop and novelty store. They sell hundreds of books relating to alternative lifestyles. They also have a really nice and complete travel section. If you have a GBLT freind and would like to get them a gift, then you should check out their gift department - really unique! I also enjoy their wide selection of club-dance music. They sell many, many fantastic compilation CD's you cant find elsewhere - many imports, too! If you are film buff, An Open Book also rents DVD's and carries many unique alternative titles.
All in all, An Open Book is just a really neat, fun, eclectic store that is really fun to browse around in. Oh, and dont forget to look for and say hi to Harvey Milk, the store's live-in cat!

an alternative lifestyle book store with lots of materials, gifts, stationary, etc. to meet your needs in this area. store is well kept and staffed. I am just not in the market for this type of material so I may not be giving the place a fair shake but it is something that you can check out during the gallery hops if your in the area as they always seem to be open during this event.
