Bob Picot is a family-owned marine upholstery firm located on Boat Street in the University District. They specialize in weather-resistant fabric designs, including dodgers, boat covers and upholstery (they also make the tubular metal frames for dodgers, so if you need a full replacement they can do the whole thing.)
They've been in the same location forever, and have been in business since 1948, so they must do a pretty good job (they may well deserve a stronger rating than the 3 stars I assigned, but I haven't worked with them myself).
If you use them and like them, please write your own review so I know how it turned out.

Robin Daly has twice (two different houses) given me great advice on paint colors in my house, including taking me in colorful directions I would never have otherwise considered. Staff at the store are helpful, take the time to make sure you've got it right. Great place for getting the advice and supplies to transform your home.

More
Daly's Paint, in Wallingford or Bellevue, is a great place to get paint or stain. Their products are top quality, and it's not easy to find such knowledgeable service. They'll be able to help you custom match (even stain, which is no easy task) and adjust already mixed color if you need to.
We've bought stain for a deck and a fence there, and both held up admirably. If you are looking for paint, you can purchase 1' square samples (made with actual paint, not printed with ink) to see how it will really look in your home.
They also keep a record of everything you buy in their computer system, so if you need more you'll have access to the exact formula used the first time around.
There are only 2 drawbacks:
- Limited hours can make it difficult to get what you need to finish up a weekend project.
- Their personalized service takes time, so you may end up waiting a while in line while others are helped. They do have a number system, so you can browse while you wait.

Don't let the name fool you, it's more then just a bunch of rods, reels, and lures. This is probably the best place to go in Seattle if your looking for sailing gear. Blocks, cleats, rigging, and probably the best selection of lines in the area. There's also a good selection of foul weather gear. While the prices aren't anything spectacular they are certainly in line with other supply stores.

This West Marine store is certainly one of the smaller ones in the chain. They try to carry a large selection of items but in the end I think this hurts the store. For example I probably won't buy high end foul-weather gear when there are only a few types to try on and choose from in the store. They do carry a good selection of basic needs for your boat though. If you need a new fitting or line before heading out for the day, then this is a good place to check out. For higher end purchases I would look elsewhere.
