When we are going to buy a lot of wine or are looking for something special, Esquin is a great place to go. Their staff is very informed and can even help you with food pairings. I've gone in with a menu and they've walked me through the best wines for my courses. When I wanted more education on port, a salesperson gave me a great deal of info about my options and I never felt like he was trying to upsell me with the most expensive bottle. Also, they are always having great deals and wine tasting events which you can find out about in their newsletter so I recommend checking it out.

I echo the sentiments of the reviewers before me. The crumpets are delightful and a real treat anytime. The cozy little shop is a real gem in the PPM & I often take out-of-town guests here since it is so charming and their offerings are so tasty.
If you can snag a table out front, it's great for people-watching, too!

A friend told me about this tea shop (I didn't know there were tea shops...dumb me)...and later we went here several times to study. The staff is so nice and helpful...they have really good tea and desserts are awesome. The vibe here is so relaxed and nice. It's a really good place to study or hang out with friends over some tea. A very good place to go.
Pros: Great tea, huge variety to choose from, good desserts

My partner and I stumbled across Market Spice while we were exploring downtown Seattle. What a great shop! They have excellent spice blends, especially for seafood and southwestern style foods. I especially liked their different types of salt. We bought some Hawaiian sea salt, which has a beautiful red color and a complex flavor that lingers pleasantly on the palate. The only downside was that they were out of the cocoa blend (which smelled great in the sample jar!). I'll have to go back and see if they have it in stock soon and pick up some other spice blends and types of salt!

Have had La Pavoni, Barista, other machines repaired here, also buy supplies to service my La Pavoni...gaskets, etc. In all cases excellent service, reasonable prices, and helpful advice on simple DIY repairs. They also use high-end espresso, great machine to make excellent espress drinks while you're getting repairs set up.

As a former employee of Queen Marys I definitely agree that it is crowded and small. we would have to "make room" on weekends when we would be overbooked. Reservations are nice ,but Mary will always find a space for the
"walk ins", even if she has to push a reservation back a half an hour. ALL the cakes are fabulous and the creme brulee is to die for. The scones are the best in town, but come early for those,Bev,Mary's mom only makes about 6 a day, and when there gone, there gone. The tea selection in one of the best, and the food is great.I love the soups, and still long for them. However everyone should go for the high tea, and remember to ask for a tiara

It's usually quiet in here when I come in for a beer and coffee with friends. Not sure why, although I hear it gets full for the live music at night. Coffee's good, so is the chai, and in my opinion, the beer selection here can't be rivaled by most bars in the area. Mr. Spot's has wine too, but I'm going to talk about the beer. They've got six, that's right SIX local beers on tap, and over 10 kinds in bottles. The baristas are always really nice too. And there's a reasonably priced (2.50 and up) menu if you need some sustenance. If you like to go out for beers and actually talk to the people you're with, you should check out Mr. Spot's.

I just went here with a friend on Tuesday night. It was excellent! We shared a pot of "World Peace" (herbal tea) and I'm craving a cup right now (hence why decide to write this post now). I can't wait to get back and try some of their other teas. I thought it was clever that they provide a timer so you can make sure the tea seeps for the appropriate amount of time.
