Update: Espresso Splendido on Eastlake will close at the end of April 2006. They apparently have another store on Stone Way (at about 41st?) that will stay open.

Since I began walking to work recently, I discovered Espresso Splendido and stopped in for a latte. Chris, the owner and barista is fantastic. I remember while getting my first cup, I was completely mesmerized watching him work - a true expert - cleaning, pouring, tamping, steaming all at once, no wasted energy whatsoever. Very impressive to watch and the resulting cup of coffee was spectacular as well. If you're in the area, stop by, say hello and get your morning fix.

Mmmm... Splendido. My wife and I used to have Splendido Friday's even when we were broke we would have enough scratch for Splendido coffee (did I mention their prices are really really reasonable?)... More
Mmmm... Splendido. My wife and I used to have Splendido Friday's even when we were broke we would have enough scratch for Splendido coffee (did I mention their prices are really really reasonable?) These people are SO incredibly nice (I know it's a barista job to be nice but these folks have a heaping helping of cheer) great music usually playing as well (last time it was Johnny Cash). They never scorch the milk either... best coffee in Seattle!

Espresso Splendido has coffee-serving down to a perfect, friendly science. The baristas are down to earth and friendly, and the Chai is the best I have ever had. Check it out!
