Feel like royalty when you step into the teacups new space (the former Tully's). It's large and in charge but yet intimate in feel. The employees KNOW their teas and will spend a significant amount of time walking you through the different kinds of teas and you can smell each and every one before committing. They offer classes each week on tea--how to drink, how it's made, etc... and it's definitely a lot more sophisticated of an experience than going to Starbucks.

A friend told me about this tea shop (I didn't know there were tea shops...dumb me)...and later we went here several times to study. The staff is so nice and helpful...they have really good tea and desserts are awesome. The vibe here is so relaxed and nice. It's a really good place to study or hang out with friends over some tea. A very good place to go.
Pros: Great tea, huge variety to choose from, good desserts

The Teacup is located on the top of Queen Anne Hill on the north end of Queen Anne Avenue. They have a wide selection of loose teas, from herbal to black to green and even white teas. It's a great place to meet someone for tea. Frequent customers, or anyone, can start a tea card. After purchasing six cups of brewed tea, you get the next one free. Elizabeth, the owner is incredibly knowledgeable and can assist anyone in the search for the perfect cup of tea. The Teacup also serves scones and cookies to go with your cup or pot of tea.

Man, the Tea Cup is great! The staff is REALLY nice and REALLY helpful. I went in not knowing anything about tea looking for a gift for my wife for her birthday, I (attempted) to explain what types of teas she liked (which I could barely do) and they helped me find four interesting and tasty teas, in fact they did so good that one of the ones I had bought my wife had just ran out of and I had never even heard of it!

At first you might find the extensive menu daunting. Do not fret. The staff is very knowledgeable about the many teas that they carry. Ask for a sample of teas. I recommend the silver peony. Very delicious.

The Teacup, right on Queen Anne Avenue near the top of Queen Anne Hill, has a wonderful selection of high-quality teas. It's been a little while since I've been in, but if I remember right you can buy bulk tea leaves or order a cup of tea to drink there. They also host tea tastings.
