I went to Andre Chreky's salon this past weekend and I am very pleased with the haircut and the hair color.I came in with long hair that was bringing me down and highlights that hadn't been done in a while. My colorist was amazing, she put lowlights and highlights to balance out the color. My hairstylist,Rodney, was amazing as well;I showed him a picture that I had brought in, he looked at it one time and was ready to go. My hair usually takes a while to cut, but not this time, it was very quick, but precise as well. I came in feeling like street person and walked out looking and feeling like a movie-star! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone in the D.C area!

I regularly go to Andre Chreky for eyebrow waxes and facials. Mila does a very thorough job waxing, and I always like the end result. She will wax, pluck any stray hairs, and trim any longish hairs. Most importantly, she will listen to what you want. Recently the salon raised their prices, so an eyebrow wax is now $20 (plus I always give a $5 tip). So, $25 for a wax isn't exactly cheap. Every month or so, the salon offers a $10 brow waxing event, which I try to go to as much as possible. Go to their website to subscribe to their email list to be notified of monthly specials.
The spa treatment rooms are on the third and fourth floors of the salon, high above the loudness of the hair salon. My waxing and my facials are always in a spacious room with a fireplace (although I have yet to see it lit). Mila is great at giving facials. While I get my facial, she puts my hands in warming mitts to soften. I know there are different types of facials offered, and I honestly don't know which one I do. It's $80 and usually lasts almost an hour and a half and includes things like a light shoulder massage and extractions. Mila has recommended helpful things to add (or subtract) from my diet to benefit my skin, and has lead me to some good products, without any sales pressure.
Their policy is cash-only for tips--they won't let you add it on to your credit card. Generally I find it pretty easy to get appointments. Evenings are always less busy, which is great for me because I just come right after work. I've come on Saturdays and the place is usually filled with at least one bridal party, complete with young flower girls running around, so I would avoid Saturdays if possible.

I have been having my hair done by Andre for about 15 years. Once upon a time, I remarked to a colleague that I liked her hair and she referred me to a salon in DC (I can't remember the name, but it was before Andre opened his own salon). Well, I saw Andre at this salon and, well, the rest is history. He has always given me a great cut and has always, always, emphasized good customer service. I have to say that because I live in Virginia I have been disloyal a few times simply because it was convenient to stay in VA, but have always gone back to Andre with my tail between my legs. He really is an artist with hair. No doubt about it!

I went to Andre's for a full highlight. The female stylist made my color lighter and did not get near my roots, which was my reason for going. My guy friend told me it was the worst color he had seen on me. I went back again for her to fix it. The result was my hair was too blonde, and it looked like a solid color. It cost me $233 to fix it at another dc salon. As you can imagine, it is very damaging to the hair to have color mistakes made, as the processing causes the hair to get dried out.

Awful. I came in wearing converse shoes and you would have thought I hadn't bathed in weeks by the way I was treated. The hairstylist, Rodney, completely ignored what I asked and gave me a housewife bob. It's the only time I've ever wanted to cry over my hair. The whole time another girl (in an Anne Taylor suit, of course) was sitting right beside me because she was next in line to have Rodney, so I felt bad criticizing his hack job in front of her. He also took all of 5 minutes and didn't say a word to me the entire time, except to ask how I liked it. When I pointed out that he didn't cut the back of it all, he acted insulted. It was a horrible experience and I would never, ever go back again.

I went to Andre Chreky's a while ago and from what I remember, they made me feel awful. I am in my mid-30s and not svelte and don't wear makeup. They treated me like they thought I was some dumpy hausfrau who wasn't worth their time. I would not go back to Chreky's for all the $$$ on K Street.
As for the cut, I can't even remember it. Maybe that does not make me a fair rater but I do remember that attitude. Oh my do I remember...
