I have had many pedicures, from expensive spas to the little neighborhood spots, and this is by far the worst, least skilled pedicure I've ever had. I sent the following email to Swoon the day of my service over a week ago, and I have yet to receive any response. Very poor service in my book. So I'll never go back.
Dear Owner,
I feel it important to tell you that I had a pedicure at your spa today for the first time, and it was the worst pedicure I've ever had. (My appointment was at 5 and I also brought a friend.) The woman who did my nails seemed very unsure of herself, and I wonder if this was the first pedicure she's ever done. She cut so deeply into the cuticle around my nails, that I was in pain most of the time, and she made me (the citysearch filter won't let me use the verb "bl--d" here - i.e. what happens when someone cuts you.) The water she put on my feet and legs was much too hot, and even though I asked more than once for her to turn it down, she seemed unable to adjust the temperature. All the while, the woman doing the pedicure on my friend kept whispering to her, what to do, which products to use, and to take her latex glove off so she could feel the temperature of the water. My nails are cut unevenly, and all in all, I have never been so uncomfortable and put off by a spa service.
To top it all off, the filing she did of my nail was so jagged, that when I went to put a sock on this evening, it caught on the edge of my nail and tore it, requiring me to file it more. So now, when I am leaving for NY shortly, and had hoped to have a perfect pedicure, I have a miserable pedicure.
The woman at the register gave me 20% off, which I appreciated, but in hind-sight, I don't think I should have had to pay for it at all. I thought though I would take the time to tell you this, because I think your spa has a great look and feel to it - but if you don't have really great staff, or at a minimum, competent staff, then you will just lose business.
Thanks.

I check out quite a few places for nail services. This is one of the very few places that actually sterilize their tools. They also throw out or give you your nail files. The staff is very friendly. I got a pedicure with a friend there last week. The two girls (they look like they could be sisters) were so nice. What impressed me was how clean they both were. One of them dropped a tool and opened up a whole new package because of it. They both make sure that your nails are as clean as they can get it (I like it when they clean under my nails). If you're looking for a place that you can feel safe to be in, you should definately check this place out.
Pros: clean!, offer other services
Cons: parking

Hi, I moved here recently from S.F. where we had so many great neighborhood spas and salons and have been very disappointed by the lack of choices and high prices for services in Seattle. I had given up until a friend told me about Swoon. It's just a really casual fun place to get a service - which doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I had a great mani/pedi and wax. Everyone really is super nice and friendly but not in a creepy way.
Pros: Great services, casual setting
Cons: On street parking but found out they reimburse for paid parking

So I have been going to Eileen for a couple of years to have pedicures done. She is so great. She takes her time to make sure that everything is done correctly. She never rushes me and makes sure my feet leave happy.
This is one luxe that I won't skimp on -- and Eileen is the only one I will let work on my feet. Next time you need your feet pampered make sure to ask for Eileen. You and your feet will be happy you did.
Pros: Clean, Friendly, Proffesional and welcoming
Cons: Parking

I have finally found my waxing place! I have been to so many places where they just rush you in and out or where they burn the heck out of you with the wax. My bikini wax was great, the esthetician made sure that the wax was the right temp and took her time to do be thorough. To top it off everyone at the spa is so nice and friendly. So excited that they are on Capitol Hill.
Pros: Clean, friendly staff
Cons: None

As far as facials go...there wasn't any discussion of what the process would be...products to be used or why. It was relaxing until the extractions which, MAN!, were painful. Not pushy, but not quite attentive to detail enough. Don't think I'll go back. It's a lot of $$$ for mediocrity.

This has got to be the best place in Seattle to have your nails done. I've tried everywhere else and they just never seem to get it right no matter how much you pay, but at swoon it's different. The atmosphere is very inviting and the people are so very nice. The place has the best ventilation and should win the most clean spa ever. And as a guy who doesn't like to be in a spa, i don't mind being in swoon. I've brought many friends to my nail girl (Eilleen) and they have always loved her services. Best thing is, my nails don't look bad 2 days later with my cuticles looking all tore up.
Pros: Best Nail People in town
Cons: Parking

This is a great neighborhood spa! I go here for all my services - mani/pedi, massage, waxing, facials. Everyone is so nice and the services are top notch. I love going because there is no attitude just really cool people. Anyone who thinks it looks cheap has not been to many spas in seattle. Everything looks custom made and they have the cool Caper chairs.
Pros: Great people, great services
Cons: Gets noisy on Saturdays

I guess I should know not to listen to the hype surrounding new spas by now, but this place was definitely not what I was expecting! Its very tacky and over-priced for what is a very basic spa. The manicure table is really not fun unless you're with ten other people and then it still is cheap looking. Theres just no luxury here, but it's ok I guess. The service was fine, prices were too much for the facility.
Pros: Clean
Cons: No parking, basic salon, not a Spa!
