WALTER JAGER HAS MOVED TO ROBERT LEONARD SALON AND DAY SPA 11/30/2011

I am very upset to have my original Review of Walter Jager carried on the Marco Two Website and in this column. WALTER JAGER, Balayage Master, has moved to: ROBERT LEONARD SALON AND DAY SPA 206-441-9900. Walter is continuing to perform his beautiful Balayage Blonde but not at Marco Two. Go to the Robert Leonard Salon Reviews to see what Walter Jager is up to. more

Terrible 11/18/2011

They didnt listen to what I said. I went in with long dark hair and came out with short brown hair! I said I liked the darkest colour of my hair and the length. Was told they would layer and put in more natural highlights. A new look I didnt want and dont like, and a year to now grow it out! more

The 3 Most Important M's in Seattle 8/24/2011

The 3 most important M's in Seattle; Marios, The Met and Marco 2 Union Square. After finding myself in need of a MAJOR hair overhaul and feeling a tad ruddy....I headed straight to Marco, knowing his reputation and that of the artists that work there, my decision was a no-brainer. My colorist Jerry was funny, stylish and gave me the best balayage I ever had. FLAWLESS. Next stop.... Lindsey for a facial and I walked out of that room with the glow of a 20 year old. From beginning to end, the experience was perfection. I will never go anywhere else and frankly neither should you! more

I'll follow him anywhere! 3/16/2011

Marco is the hair stylist you've always dreamed of. Talented, intuitive, considerate, caring and totally into you and your hair! I discovered him in the 80's, and followed him throughout his career, from when he was the star stylist at the Four Season Hotel salon to his own Marco Two Union Square. His salon reflects the excellent taste, customer service and attention to detail that is unique to Marco. He's the real deal. As the song says, ""once you have found him, never let him go""! I know I didn't! more

Thrilled!! 3/15/2011

I have to admit I was a little apprehensive about booking an appointment at Marco's. Seemed that every time I see a woman with a hair cut or color that I love they have just had their hair done at Marco's (I work next door). Based on how these women look and the reputation of the salon I didn't think I could afford their prices. I finally mustered up the nerve to go in there after a bad hair cut down the street and was shocked to find that they have such a broad price range! Their cuts start at $50!! Granted they go up to $200 but it was a welcome suprise to find that a girl like me with an average income can go to such a beautiful salon with such a talented staff! The girl that cut my hair knew just what was wrong with it and gave me a beautiful hair cut without taking off a lot of length (I had just had it cut over the weekend) and an amazing blow dry. My hair has never looked so good! She introduced me to a colorist who talked to me about what would be pretty on me and I am already scheduled to go back for my color! The front desk staff was helpful and courteous and I never once felt like I wasn't welcome or didn't fit with their clientele. And Marco? Dont get me started! He actually served me coffee himself! I drink decaf and he made me a fresh french press while I waited for my cut!\r It reminded me of my favorite family owned restraunt. Everyone seemed happy to be there, employees and clients, and everyone was very warm and friendly. I cant wait to go back!! more

Best Place 2/8/2011

I've come here for years for cut and color. It's true--Walter really is the best colorist around, just like the magazines say. I've tried others, just because you should once in a while, and always come back. Everyone does a good cut so you can't go wrong. Just make sure you ask their price because each of them have a different price and some are very expensive. I've been to most of the ladies and happy with 99% of my cuts. The place is so relaxing and classy. Marco greets everyone in such a warm and friendly manner. The best thing is that appointments start on time and end on time. So you're never waiting, especially when you need to get back to work. The staff is very respectful of everyone's time. more

WALTER JAEGER.... THE BEST BALAYAGE BLOND IN SEATTLE!! 9/23/2009

Walter Jaeger is ""The Blonde Balayage Master"" in Seattle!! Believe EVERY SINGLE positive magazine and client review written about him...it is not hype. I am New to Seattle from New York...suffered three horrible blonde balayage disasters from top Seattle Salons. In just a brief consultation, I knew that I was with a Pro. Walter has years of experience and is ""cutting edge"" current with the latest in Blonding. He had literally just spent some time with a very well known Professional Consultant from New York and L.A. reviewing the latest color techniques. Personally, Walter is warm, friendly and most importantly truly interested in YOUR color needs. He not only LISTENS but truly HEARS what you are saying. The Salon is lovely and the Staff is very friendly and attentive. I walked in feeling terrible about the way I looked and walked out feeling Beautiful! Pros: CUTTING EDGE, PROFESSIONAL, WARM, INVITING SALON Cons: NONE COME TO MIND more

Always Amazing! 2/4/2009

I have been going to Marcos for five years now and they have yet to disappoint me! Lisa (who is no longer there) gave me a great short haircut, and Pauline gave me awesome layers. Dominique does a nice job with highlights, as she listens to what you want and is gentle and trustworthy. I always leave feeling amazing, and get lots of compliments. Love the downtown location and the high-end feel, but you don't really want to just drop in in sweats-everyone is rather upscale here. Pros: very skilled Cons: parking more

Megan at Marco Salon is AWESOME for highlights 12/20/2008

I am very fussy about my hair, inparticular my color. Megan does an wonderful job on my highlights. She does a fine weave of blonde that looks natural on me. I have had trouble with highlights turning bassy in the past but that has not happened with Megan. She knows what she is doing plus she is fun to chat with. I started seeing Megan when she was an apprentice at the salon and have stayed on as a client. The Salon is nice and tucked away from the bustling streets below. I perfer a weekday appointment when the salon is a little slower, although a Saturday can be fun to watch all the people getting their hair done. Several product lines and even makeup touch-ups for those who need it. Pros: Fun, Friendly, Super Location, Great Highlights Cons: Parking.....plenty available but hate paying for it more

Fabulous! 10/28/2008

The staff is highly experienced- and worth every penny. My colorist is a perfectionist, and I never walk out the door with less than BEAUTIFUL hair. They focus on making me look beautiful and NOT ""trendy"" which I appreciate. Very well managed, upscale, friendly environment, such a gem in the middle of the city. HIGHLY RECCOMEND! Don't waste your time going anywhere else. Pros: Highly trained staff, high quality products more

Great stylists and atmosphere 9/7/2008

I took my mother to have her hair done for a mother's day gift. She loves her red hair, but really needed a change of color and style. I actually started calling her ""Mrs. McDonald"" and was afraid that she would start asking me if I'd like fries with anything. My family was in full support of a change for mom. I think we were on the verge of an intervention. Lisa and Stephen at Marco were fantastic. They listened, made my mother comfortable, and instilled a sense of trust. My mother, Rosmarie (I'm Rosmarie's Baby, by the way) , left the salon with a wonderful cut and color. My nephews in California were pleasantly surprised when Grandma showed for their graduation up with a subdued color and style. My sisters were extremely thankful, as well. We just found out that Lisa and Stephen have left Marco Salon and are now at Robert Leonard. Marco is a fantastic salon. It will be a tough choice for my mom on where to go. Pros: Posh atmosphere Cons: Costs more than a hairstyle in Burien... more

great hair cut 1/13/2008

I got my haircut by Tyson on Friday and he did a great job. He listened to what I wanted, he understood what I wanted, and he gave me exactly what I wanted. I love my haircut and the customer service was stellar. Thanks, Tyson! Pros: great customer service, beautiful salon, good cuts Cons: parking, pricey more

Tyson's the best! 1/8/2008

After having read an unnecessarily unfavorable review of my hairdresser, I feel I must respond with what have been my own very wonderful experiences at Marco Two Union Square with Tyson. I have recieved nothing but stellar cuts, genuine custumer service and a great attitude. Tyson has cut my hair for over 3 years. He has always given me a haircut that suits me and expert tips on how to style and maintain it. Over the years I have sent numerous friends and colleague's to him, ALL of whom have remained return custumers. Please do yourself a favor and make your appt. immediately. You will be glad you did. Pros: excellent experience with hair. everyone knows what they are doing and have exceptional syle. Cons: parking more

Worst haircut - EVER! 12/20/2007

I can't say enough about what Tyson at Marco's Salon did to my hair. I have the easiest hair to cut - it has never been botched: not even by Aveda School students. However, Tyson managed to give me a ""mullett"" or what looks like one. I have a slightly layered bob, which tells you how basic my cut is. He cut the top layer very short and then left the rest long so it looks like two different haircuts. I went to a leading salon to consult with a hairdresser and was told ""there's nothing you can do but let it grow out"". It has been two months of agony and it still hasn't grown out enough so it can be recut. How they ever got a good rating is beyond me. Do yourself a favor and stay away from that salon (or take a hat with you)! Pros: Salon is attractive and conveniently located Cons: snotty receptionist more

Great Place for Eyebrow Waxing! 7/21/2007

Britney is great with brows. I have a scar in my eyebrow that she has magically covered and has never taken too much off. She is very friendly and always on time. more

LOVE IT 5/26/2007

I have been going to Marcos for over a year now and my stylist name is Rick... I have very hard to deal with hair, it is very very curly and long. I am as picky as it gets when it comes to my hair... I actually used to fly to La to get it cut before finding Rick...\r the salon itself has wonderful customer service. the hostess is always happy to see you and everyone that you come into contact with always remembers your name. It is very posh yet very personal you will never feel like just another person paying to get your hair done there! \r back to Rick! he is fantastic!!! I have even taken a couple of my friend! he is always warm, loving, and yet very proffesional\r Yes it is spendy but come on it is something you have to walk around with every day of your life and it is one of the first things people see on you... so if you never want to wake up to a bad hair day again I would totally recommend Rick at Marcos! Pros: Rick and the whole staff... wonderful welcoming Ambience without making you uncomfortable Cons: The only thing I could think of is the parking... but you can always valat in the building for no extra cost more

Best hair salon 11/13/2006

I absolutly loved getting my hair done and Marco Two Union Square. They are very efficient and dont try to sell you every product. Ward did my color and he was fabulous. He told me what would and wouldnt work and was honest! It turned oput so amazing that i will never go anywhere else! Pros: efficient and fast more

Didn't love it 5/26/2006

Well, I didn't leave crying or hating my hair cut, but for the $$$$ they charge at that salon I feel like I should absolutely love it. The atmosphere is pretty swanky, I admit, but I found the cut and color that I got to be simply average. Not worth the $200+ I paid (and, by the way, I didn't even see any of the more expensive stylists). Pros: atmosphere Cons: pricey more

VERY BAD!! 4/2/2006

I just want to say that the people who work there are horrible and very fake! while I was there I heard 2 of marco's employees talking shetty about how cheap the clients are!!! I was really really shocked! I didn't think that this is a good place to be after the clients leave they talk very bad behind them! I dont that even these idiot clients know what the fak is going on behind them they both are FAKE. more

The BEST! 8/15/2005

If you want to splurge, this is worth every cent! Natini's color is the best I ever had. Hard to do highlights on an asian that look natural and spectacular at the same time, but she did it! Pauline is a genius with cuts. She really takes the time to make sure the cut looks good from every angle, that it lies right with the way your hair naturally falls. I had the best cut & color of my life there. They are the gold standard. Pros: expertise, professionalism, friendliness Cons: price more
