I love Halo! I've been going there for three years now and every time I'm so incredibly pleased with it. I have worked with Jen, Stephanie, and Medina and have been very very VERY happy with all of them. I now use just Jen (Medina was a one time deal because Jen was gone, Stephanie is great but a little pricey for me) and my hair has never looked better! Not only is Jen so much fun AND incredibly good at her job, but she actually remembers you and treats you like an old friend. I've been to other salons like Gene Juarez and was sick of being treated like a number and sick of having stupid conversations about my favorite TV shows and the like. Jen is fresh, fun, and so real about what works and doesn't work for you. (which is amazing!) Go to Jen and you won't regret it! If she's booked, anyone at Halo will do you justice and you'll leave happy you went! Pros: Great service, fun people, excellent styling Cons: Parking is tricky (downtown)

Colleen has been my stylist for 3 years, and I wouldn't go to anyone else! I have unruly wavy hair that is difficult to cut, but Colleen does a wonderful job every time! I constantly get compliments from random people on the street wanting to know who does my hair. She also does a great job with highlights, and at a reasonable price! You can come in with a photo, an idea, or just tell her to make you look fabulous--you will not be disappointed! Pros: Friendly staff, chic facility, reliable service!

I found Halo a couple of years ago and have had Jen is my primary stylist ever since. (I also use to see Colleen before she left on maternity leave?she's back now?and she rocks too.) All the stylist there are outstanding and Jen always gives me a fantastic haircut and color. She has completely made me over. My husband and I built a house about a year ago and we were on well water that had extremely high iron content which damaged my hair (we've since figured this out and corrected the problem). During the first few weeks of living there my hair got an orange tint to it (I'm blond) and was extremely damaged. (it was so weird it could be a topic at a hair seminar some day?ah, country folk) but superwoman Jen conservatively corrected it so not to damage it further. The staff at Halo are also wonderful and make sure their clientele are comfortable and pampered. I travel all the way from Marrowstone Island on the Peninsula just to have my hair done there. That's a 1:15 hour drive and a ferry ride folks. That should say it all! And when I leave Halo and spend the day in Seattle shopping or whatever I get several comments on how fab my hair looks! Halo's well worth the trip, the prices are reasonable and its very chic, art shows and all, without going over the top. Love it.

I've been going to Jen for over two years and have received consistently amazing cuts. Jen is extremely friendly and somehow manages to add texture and depth even to the simplest of cuts. I've tried out quite a few of the salons/stylist in downtown and capitol hill, and Halo is hands down the best. It has great decor (they feature constantly changing artwork from local artists) and extremely talented stylists--and, unlike most salons in the area, the staff is down to earth and completely unpretentious. I normally wouldn't go out of my way to write a review, but Halo *and especially Jen* definitely deserve the praise. Pros: Staff, Location, Awesome Value, Jen! Cons: Nada

I had an idea of what I wanted my hair cut to look like but I was hoping to get some input from the stylist. Colleen, the stylist, listened to what my general ideas were and then made them better. It was obvious that doing a great job was important to her as well as to me. She took ownership in the process. That does not mean she told me what would look best and did not care what I thought. It was a collaboration. The sort of experience most people would envision from a great stylist. Now that said, it's nice that she cared and had fantastic input but lets face it that only gets you so far. If she can't back the ideas and customer service up with solid cutting and coloring skills. Happily she can and she did. I love my hair cut!! My boyfriend and others comment on how cute it is often. The color is perfect. Unless you knew it was colored you wouldn't. It looks that natural. Exactly what I wanted.

I've been going to Colleen at Halo for the past 18 months and have had an excellent experience. I was referred to Halo by my previous stylist in Austin, TX. Since I've been going to Halo, my hair looks great! I've had so many compliments. I'd describe Halo as a comfortable, unfussy yet stylish place with genuine, friendly staff. Colleen has found a nice balance of color & highlights for my hair that suits my skin-tone. She has given me haircuts with subtle layers that grow out nicely and that look good all the way 'til my next cut, unlike sloppier 'dos I've had in the past. As a stylist,Colleen is a attentive, professional, prompt and she knows her stuff, so she's fast, which I totally appreciate!! I feel comfortable having my hair in her capable hands! Thanks Colleen! Halo is a great salon with reasonable prices and a comfortable (yet very hip) atmosphere. Colleen Christian has been cutting my straight hair since 2005, taking it from long layers to short and hip with subtle changes in between?always with great results. She's also good at hearing what you have to say about your style and maintenance routine, makes thoughtful but never pushy suggestions, and remembers those details for later visits. I've never really stayed loyal to a stylist for this long, she's friendly and fabulous! Pros: Good prices for skilled cuts

Jen cut my hair and did an awful job. She left a huge ledge in my hair and it was very choppy. After she was running 45 minutes late. I called to have it fixed they told me I would have to wait a week! So, her friend and fellow stylist re-cut my hair the next day. And took off a lot of length and I did not want the length touched. And then put almost holes in my hair from cutting it higher on the sides in the middle. It has been almost 2 months, and my hair still looks awful. Jen was beside me when I was getting the re-cut, and would not even speak to me. Very immature and very unprofessional. I will not return and I will tell people to never go to Halo salon. Awful! Pros: downtown location Cons: Jen, poor customer service, awful hair cuts

Johnathan is the color master!! I recently moved to Seattle, and finding the right colorist has been a nightmare, not to mention all the money wasted on bad highlights. When I started seeing him for my hair, the journey of finding the perfect match was over. I no longer have to worry about someone frying my hair, or doing what they want instead of what I want. Not only does he do a phenomenal job, but he also understands a great deal about the chemistry of hair color, so when he envisions something it comes out exactly the same (no hidden surprises). I believe your experience will be just as pleasurable as mine. Pros: everything
