The Elysian Tangletown pub is the ultimate neighborhood pub! In very few places have I had such great beer, food, and service all at once, in a place with such great ambience and location. The Elysian like any bar, is best when you live nearby and you can just walk over for a beer, dinner, or whenever. For food I would recommend the brisket sandwich, burgers, and the reuben, and I haven't had weekend brunch there yet, but the menu looks wonderful and I'm very much looking forward to doing that.
As for beer, my personal favorite at the moment is the Pilsener, but on a hot day, the Jasmine IPA is super refreshing, but still a real beer. The ESB is the old standby, and I'm actually looking forward to the fall and winter so I can try the more hardy brews!

Much better than your usual pub food and a great beer selection that changes daily. Sometimes they have cask-conditoned beer, too – which is great!...

Barca is a large, almost cavernous lounge and does a great job making the place feel warm. The bi-level bar makes it more varied than many of the small single room lounges around Seattle. Big booths with high sloping cushions surround the main level and high bar tables dot the interior. There is something for just about any type of group.

from the moment I walked in there and the DJ was playing a Mr. Bungle song. It's known as a metal bar and attached to the Vogue, so it's usually a mix of metalheads, goths, and for whatever reason, guys on sport bikes.
One of the best parts of the Juj was the ambience. It was dark (all black walls), smokey, had great art on the walls, and cool glass designs over the bar where there was a shark tank. If you get there too late, its definitely hard to get a seat, but it's not packed like a pioneer square bar, just busy.
The bartenders were quick and poured good drinks. Alas, as far as I know, it has shut down and the bar/staff moved to Neumo's. At least that's what I have heard, haven't been by there in a few months.

The happy hour at the Sitting Room in Queen Anne is a great after work stop. The happy hour runs from 5-7 and includes well drinks, house red and white and a few beers. The food selection while limited was good: cheese plate, smoked salmon plate, salami plate and a few others.
The small bar/restaurant was packed at 6:30--we got the last table on a Tuesday night! Definitely a 20 something scene and worth it for the tasty and affordable bites and drinks.

Chapel is great. The atmosphere is awesome as well as the decor. It's a renovated funeral home, and you get some of the 'chapel' feel while you're there, but the decor is very sophisticated, dark, lots of ambience. The prices are typical, not too expensive, the service was excellent. Our waiter even found us when we changed locations. It's a great spot to sit with some friends before going out to dance. The balcony upstairs has some particularly comfy seats. There's a nice mix of people, from the capitol hill crowd, to suits and ties. I highly recommend going!

You have to love this little hole in the wall place. I am hesitant to even write a review, cause I don't want everyone finding out about this place. The drinks are always flowing and you never have to wait for your glass to be empty, there is a fresh one waiting. The food in bars is usually an "add-on", not here..it is good! My ex and I use to go there all the time for food and drinks and just too hang out. Check out 69 cent taco tues!! ROCKS!!! I miss living in Ballard for many reasons, the main one being, The Tin Hat!

The rumors are true: The hipsters sometimes come to congregate here. And why shouldn't they? At Shorty's Coney Island you get to hang out in booths reminiscent of high school cafeterias. Beers are cheap. There's Galaga. OK, so it's no Nickel Nickel, the staple arcade for me growing up where old school games were a nickel and newer ones the standard 25 and 50 cents. But where else can I go and order a PBR and a hot dog with kraut, cheese and onion (without receiving a dirty look or a double-take!) and play Time Crisis to my heart's content. Nowhere. And really, nowhere, as Shorty's no longer has Time Crisis--but they still have Buck Hunter and a variety of other video games and pinball machines.
Ah, Shorty's, the one place I can go in Belltown without fear of being eaten alive.

A friend of mine recently asked me to find out about some lesbian-oriented parties in Seattle. These appear to be the three biggies with DJs:
Girl4Girl is the third Saturday of every month at the Premier Club.
Cherry at The War Room is the second Friday of every month.
Pandora's box at the Re-bar is the last Saturday of every month.
I just realized that none of these are happening this weekend. Maybe you should try the Wild Rose.
Since I have not actually been to these, I can't really recommend any particular place or party over another.
Enjoy the weekend.
