Great hang-out if your 20ish or 30ish, pierced or unpierced, tattooed or sporting virgin skin. I think the "too cool" vibe is a projection of others' insecurities. You just gotta carve out your own niche. Be careful of the food though. I've seen more than my share of moldy cornbread and spider salads fly out of that kitchen

My favorite part of Linda's is the back patio. I don't think I have ever had a time where I haven't met someone new (and drunk) to talk to. It gets pretty packed there though, and although the waitresses are good, it's hard to get fast service there. Thankfully, they are building a bar back out on the patio and extending the seating area, which will make this already great bar, even greater.
Oh, one bad part is the bathroom. I can't speak for the women, but the men's is usually pretty dirty and the door open right into a highly trafficed hallway, so you can't be shy if you need to go to the bathroom there. All in all, no one really seems to care.

Linda's is a friendly bar on Pine street about 4 blocks south of Broadway. Walk into this bar and you'll probably feel as though you've just entered a hunter's cabin; the decor features Pacific Northwest heritage, including at least one stuffed bobcat/panther. My friends and I have never even tried visiting on a Friday or Saturday as it is packed (and mostly with people who are cooler than us; it seems to be a hangout for the pierced/tattooed crowd). But I've been several times during the week when there is a little more breathing room. The prices are reasonable, the food is excellent, and the service is friendly. The onion rings are the best yet that I've had in Seattle; the burgers are thick and juicy.

This is my favorite bar on Capitol Hill. It is relaxed, funky and unpretentious. The servers are quick and friendly and the bartenders are always fun. I love this place because you don't have to worry about what you look like to go in there- I go in a sweatshirt and jeans. If you are in the mood to eat, they have a great pub food type of menu. Great burgers, fries and onion rings. You might not be able to get a seat on a Friday or Saturday night, but it doesn't take long for one to open up. The outside seating area has heaters, so it is open all the time.

If you can stand the fact that everyone here is cooler than you, it's a great bar. Drinks/pitchers are reasonably priced and the waitstaff are friendly and move as quickly as the possibly can when the bar is packed on a Friday night. You can ever get wasted here and go back for a greasy breakfast the next morning.

This is probably my favorite bar in Seattle. The people and atmosphere is perfectly Seattle and perfectly Capitol Hill. The bar is cheap enough and has a great outdoor seating area. They play good music and have a good crowd. It’s fine for groups or just for you. Linda’s is funky and fun. They serve food too. It’s the kind of place where you go get a pitcher of beer and it’s all chipped and dangerous.
