I've had lunch here a couple of times and it's always a pleasant experience. The food is nothing inspiring or fabulous, but it's good and I've found the service to be attentive and quick. I love the location - just a block up from the market and on a sunny day, you can sit outside on one of Seattle's best corners for people watching. Would be a great after-work-drinks place!

4/16/06 Virginia Inn used to be one of our favorite spots, but on our most recent visit it seems that there are new owners and the experience was unfortunately...... not great. They've updated a few things, new paint, etc. the menu (food/bar) is basically the same on the surface but the service was terrible. We ordered one of our favorite dishes (brie app) and it was a very disappointing. (lower quality brie along with skimpy servings of apple slices and bread) I ordered a 'hot toddy' and the didn't have any honey. Instead of asking me if i wanted a different drink, they just served it with table sugar............= not tasty. In the past the service at Virginia Inn was stellar, but this time there were all new faces and the service was not only unattentive, but several of the servers were rather rude. we want the old owners BACK!!!!!

The Virginia Inn is located just blocks from the waterfront. The inside of the bar is a long narrow room with poor acoustics. It has a good selection of beers and wine. The menu is a bit too trendy; there's not much traditional pub fare, and many dishes seem to be copies of California fads. The lighting in the tavern is a bit too bright; dimming it a bit would be more comfortable. Yuppies will likely feel right at home here, but ordinary middle-class fellows might feel a bit uncomfortable.

This is my husband's favorite bar in Seattle. The beer selection is great, they have nice appetizers, servers with sass and outdoor seating right by Pike Place Market. Great place to meet after work that is just on the edge of the mania of Belltown!
