For years the Latona Pub has offered the Green Lake neighborhood a great selection of quality beers. You used to be able to bring in your own gallon size container and fill it up to go. I understand that new state regulations are allowing this possibility to once again be available. About two years ago they put in a bigger kitchen, hired this great chef and added some wonderful new menu items. You can really make a nice evening out of a Friday and Sat. night when live music starts up. Most people don't know it, but there are stairs in the back leading up to an upstairs seating area. Many a PTA meeting have been had up there.....

I really enjoy going to Latona by Green Lake. The menu is a bit broader than standard pub fare including tacos (chicken, beef or pork), duck confit salad and beef pot pie. I especially like their greek plate with hummus, kalamata olives feta, roasted red peppers and more. On a recent visit I ordered the burger which was good and served with a fresh salad--not greasy at all.
Oh and the beer selection is great and they rotate new selections and specials regularly.

The one thing I like about this place is that it's quiet. There can be 25 people in the place and you don't have to raise your voice in order to be heard. This is the kind of place where you go to catch up with an old friend. Fairly non-descript, not exceptionally comfortable but it has a warmer feel to it on a cool autumn evening.
